Death rate is not the sole determinant of a social policy decision, nor should it be.
The Swedes have specifically chosen to build herd immunity at the price of somewhat higher deaths than say Norway. When the virus returns in the fall, they will be better positioned than Norway.
If a miracle vaccine appears early, then one could argue they made a bad bet. Jury is out but we'll see.
This is THEIR decision to make, one way or the other.
