Actually, I kind of respect the columnist Debra Saunders, a liberal, Trump hater. She wrote a pretty good column today pointing out the lefts hypocrisy over the Biden sexual assault allegations.

I’m a proud Democrat who can explain the benefits and feasibility of most of our policies. I can also explain how many, not all, of the policies being pushed by Republicans today are designed to benefit their major donors and disenfranchise the working class.
I’m fact-based and respectful to those who are respectful in return. However, there seem to be very few who fit that description in these blogs. Most are just trolls looking to get a rise out of people.

Seeing as 95% of the Democratic party (in government) are center-right corporatists (i.e. Republican-lite), I don't necessarily believe in that way of thinking. That said, I'm certainly not going to go further down the road by voting Republican in an attempt to strip all power out of the hands of the people and give complete control to the corporations where we have no representation whatsoever.
Ugh. Nothing about the Democrats in the USA is even remotely 'socialist'. Money and capitalism drives them almost as hard as it does the Repubs.

I said 95% of the Dems, and that's probably an understatement. And again, none of the people that you name are calling for an end to capitalism. Bernie himself is a hell of a successful capitalist. None of them are calling for the means of production to be wholly transferred to the workers (which is the truly the main & necessary mark of a 'socialist' government/agenda). Not. One. Of. Them.
They are calling for a support system that is necessary in an economy that is run by the top 1% and leaves so many disenfranchised. In truth, they are merely preserving the current system by attempting to throw the public a bone that will satiate them longer (avoiding public revolt) while the corporatists continue to run the show, rake in profits, and write the laws.

Medicare for all is socialist, but there are other health care plans, like those from Switzerland and the Netherlands that are universal healthcare plans that have a private insurance backbone that some Democrats and Republicans should be pushing as an alternative to medicare for all.
Free college is something that has been around before and has worked well (think New York City last century). There is a capitalist argument to have free college. People who get through college will make more money, on average, than those that don't, and thus will be better consumers in the free market and could also better subsidize the cost of free college.
Benefits for illegal aliens also has a capitalist angle to it. Health care costs would overall be reduced by not having aliens wait until they are super sick and end up in the emergency rooms of hospitals, which is very expensive.
Demand for determination who sits on a corporate board of directors is truly socialist, and I'm against it.
