Purely anecdotal, but I personally know 2 people that had horrible flu symptoms for 2-3 weeks.
One was tested and told he did not have the flu but the cause was unknown
This was in November.

I got sick on Thanksgiving and was coughing for at least 3 weeks. Didn't go the doctor, so I'm still not sure if it was the normal flu or Covid.

I take the news with a grain of sand, but I’ve been saying that COVID was here at the beginning of the year, even before the original official “it’s here” from the government.
The reason why it wasn’t reported is obvious. If we did not report the pandemic without a plan in place (thank you Trump for that, winning all the way asshole!) then people would respond in a panic.

The reporter's question had nothing to do with China. She didn't ask a "nasty question" as he claimed. That exchange was a combination of Trump try to blame everything about the virus on China, he saw an Asian reporter and thought he'd throw a jab at her, clearly knowing she was Asian. Trump cut that news conference short because he knew he fucked up

I was listening to the hearings today and senators asked Dr Redfield a simple question about the extra funding the CDC requested over the last 6 months, one of the reasons was to add 30 more research doctors to its staff... When questioned if they had hired anyone for those positions the answer was sadly ... Not one person.
My point is Congress and the President can fund and legislate and direct all day long, the agencies are the ones that execute and they dont do anything quickly it seems.

The reason why America became the epicenter is for 2 reasons. One it has to do with certain parts of the US where there is a high concentration of people and the other is policies that were put in place by federal and locak governments here in America.
In most places the average percentage where ppl get Covid 19 and die from it at Nursing Homes was at or above 50%.
If you paid attn to the news you will see the deaths occurring on a daily basis yet the hospitals and all of these backup facilities are empty.
That' s because the lockdown and government policies were put into place to protect and to make sure hospital facilities did not get overwhelmed.
So what has been happening is that people who were old or high risk would get covid-19. They would then go to a hospital to get treated. The Hospital would treat them and then release them and then they would go back to the nursing home they were from or they were taken in by a nursing home. That Nursing home would then take the treated patient whom mind you still was infected by the corona virus. He would give it to all the other patients in the nursing homes and the body bags would begin to pile up.
This essentially is what has been happening in New York.
In New York Cuomo put thru a decree that no patient with covid 19 could be turned away from a nursing home. It was essentially illegal for the nursing home to reject a person whom has the corona virus.
A few days ago that law was changed !!!!

People in nursing homes are some of the most vulnerable and do have a lot of deaths but they are not "the average percentage where ppl get Covid 19".Many many other people have gotten the virus. There are a lot of people who have got covid 19 who now have very bad respiratory problems and even cardiac issues as a result of having the virus. This is rarely even talked about on the media.

This is complete bullshit! In order for a patient who has covid 19 to be released back to a nursing home that nursing home would have to be accepting covid 19 positive patients. There are very few nursing home currently doing that. So the patient has to stay in the hospital till they test negative for covid 19 twice before they can be transferred. Then once they are in the nursing home they are received in an isolated room and tested for covid one more time there before they are put with other nursing home residents.

The articles where Governor Cuomo of New York ordered nursing homes to take in patients that had covid 19. Nursing homes had to accept them they had no choice in the matter This is true no joke
Cuomo reversed that decision just a few days ago.
