Advice for getting tested for the Corona Virus

I'm sure this'll get hijacked by two camps looking for excuses to throw rocks at each other but...

Speaking from experience in getting long stabby swabs stuck up my nose three times now, ask the following questions before you go

Note: If you don't have symptoms don't go. I mean you could go get tested but uh...why?

1. Is testing available that day or do you need an appointment (don't just show up)
2. Does your insurance cover the test?
3. How much does the test cost?
4. How long before the results are back. Some places like Hoag have onsite facilities and can get the results back in ~1hr or less. Places that don't take 2-3 days.

Oh and it'll sting. Although test #3 made me sneeze several times instead.

Ok, guys back to slinging conspiracy theories and politics at each other.

First was my own paranoia, the 2nd was because the doctor wanted to make sure it was just make sure it was just a sinus infection and the 3rd is because my work is paranoid.

If you are going to get tested once why stop. You could contract it on the way home from getting the rest.

I actually went today to get tested.. The county of Los Angeles was offering and so i made an appointment the next day i was scheduled.

I got there at the scheduled time, it was by Jackie Robinson stadium near UCLA.
you drive up, windows closed. The volunteers ask if u haved followed the prerequisites like no eating an hour before and if you have enough gas in ur car in case of an hour wait.. and ur id.. once you give the thumbs up you continue behind the other cars in line.

you get to the next station, they ask you have your mask on again ask your info, they check it on the computer, and if ur in the system, they give u a kit. next you drive off a little further and then you administer the the test. There is a youtube video led by the mayor and it basically tells you what to to expect and how to do it.. but if forget, the kit does come with instructions.. and its an oral exam using a cotton swab in you mouth... when you are done you put the swab in the test tube, shake it.. seal it in the bag and give it to the last station and they take it...

it took me 30 minutes to get thru the whole thing.. they tell u it will take 48 hours to get results..

now i was a little anxious and maybe i didnt have to get it done, but i was curious and since my work is part of the "essential" business figure it would be nice to know.. no symptoms here..

now if they are offering antibody testing next.. im in for that also...

good luck everyone and stay safe

My work is going to pay for the testing and it is voluntary, If you get tested through them they get to know the results because they are paying for it. My work is offering also to get tested for the antibodies and again they get to know the results. I will pass on both.

@Dude what's your fixation with networks? Suddenly I'll be a credible source of information? Networks are here for the safety of the ladies not the veracity of information. Also you are not my type 😜😁😁
