I do like Dean Koonz story. Corona Viruses, Influenza and Rhinoviruses often can lead to pneumonia every year so eventually given enough people writing and guessing someone will guess it.
I liked Ice Bound by Dean Koonz. That was a great one.
As for Yellowstone? Nobody worries about Tambora. Also ones people forgot about (unless you live next to it) are Vesuvius, Ranier and St. Helens. Smaller bang but if you live near it'll ruin your day.
I remember St. Helens when it erupted, I still have a jar of ash from it I collected as a kid--ash that rained down here in So Cal.

Sorry, I guess I don’t know how to post a link here. Anyway, my first reaction is skepticism. Deane Koontz is a smart guy, and all this stuff was predictable, regardless of what Donald Trump says. This is not the first disease to originate in Wuhan China. There are a few striking similarities to our current situation, but also some major differences. People used to talk about Jules Verne’s amazing predictions, but they also were just extrapolations of obvious trends.
It is fun to speculate about these things, but I think such speculation should be regarded as only entertainment, since it proves nothing.

Social distancing is a good idea, but staying inside and away from all possible germs being scared is not a good idea. I say go outside. your immune systems will thank you. Make sure your taking vitamins as well be as healthy as you can be

Book written in 1981... so it was common enough knowledge in 1981 that a genetics and virology lab existed in Wuhan China that it was incorporated into a book of fiction. It is likely Covid-19 was accidentally spread from a genetics and virology lab in Wuhan China.
Not prophecy but interesting coincidence. Covid-19 is not weaponized... it is naturally a nasty killer of humans and it is here to stay. Herd immunity is the only reasonable policy. Some will die so society goes on. This ridiculous stay at home policy will kill a lot more than Covid-19... but there will be delayed political damage so the scumbag politicians in power now destroy the economy so they don't get blamed for the deaths the virus causes... and the virus will get blamed for killing the economy...
