Narc trump's supporters have no credibility on issues for subjects such as truth ,principles ,morality and leadership. But I'm sure they should preach on issues such as lying and cheating .
That's the problem.....the democrats just shit....
They have NO policies, no reasonable programs, no future for this country other than more socialism and taxation and running up the national debt to the point we will be taxed to death.....
@jazz51 facts matter and the objective truth is the the deficit and debt increases far more under Republicans than Democrats. After Obama turned the tide after the financial crisis Trump is again EXPLODING the deficit and debt through his incompetent handling of the COVID pandemic.
Your own article shows Obama as among the leaders and in actual dollars, he ranks the highest of any America President.
I will point out something that is obviously not in your acticle.....it is Nancy Pelosi and her Dems that want another $3 trillion added onto the trillions that have already been spent on this pandemic. The Republicans are currently resisting more debt.
Do you really believe that Trump is responsible for this crisis...REALLY.
We have never had a virus this bad since the Spanish Flu. You obviously don't want to believe that the Chinese knew weeks before they said anything that this was a very problematic virus. It is THEIR fault...it should have been nearly isolated in Wuhan, but they did nothing externally to help. They shut off internal travel but not international travel in and out of Wuhan...a totally reckless act and the WHO were inept in not identifying the problem because the blindly believed the Chinese.
Previous serious viral contagions have been mostly isolated in the country or area of origin, because local health officials and organizations like WHO respond properly and responsibly. Not this time.
"Do you really believe that Trump is responsible for this crisis...REALLY." It's objectively clear he is. The US has managed the pandemic much worse than any other country (maybe excluding the UK). High density populations with close proximity to China like Hong Kong 4 deaths. Taiwan 7 deaths. South Korea same day with first case 183 deaths demonstrate what competent government can achieve. The US with near 100,000 deaths and counting is a disgrace.
He still has no plan, spreads misinformation (hydroxychloroquine), refuses to set an example by wearing a mask in public (against the strong recommendations of his own administration) and plays gold after basing his campaign on the fact that he'd be too busy to.
First, Hong Kong only has 7.5 million people, but the good news about Hong Kong, they got hit pretty good with SARS in 2003 and as soon as they learned of the Covid pandemic, their people immediately started to wear masks and aggressively washed hands.....it wasn't their government doing anything, it was a population that actually went through a pandemic before....unlike the U.S.
Same with Taiwan....they likewise learned from SARS. The Taiwanese didn't believe the Chinese and acted even before China finally admitted to anything...we hopefully will learn that same lesson...don't believe the Chinese for ANYTHING they say.
Both of your examples suspended travel to China at the end of January...which is exactly what Trump did.
Our own CDC and the WHO gave ever changing information about masks.....so blame them not Trump.
@jazz51, I like the points you mentioned. Also Japan has been doing
a great job on handling the virus without a major shutdown and with a population
density much greater than the U.S. Currently only about a 1000 deaths in Japan.
I believe Trump was hoping for a minimal shutdown in the U.S., however
many Dem governors decided that it was more important to save lives
without considering the consequences of a long shutdown.
Dems seem to be willing to destroy their local economies in order
to save lives. So far it seems that we have a 99.5% of surviving
the virus, yet it will cost trillions of dollars and an untold amount
of suffering and misery in the future because of this continued shutdown.
I've seen reporting from Asia that discusses the issues involved in dealing
with a pandemic. As jazz51 mentioned, the Asian countries already had
plenty of data and experience dealing with previous pandemics. yet
this info has never been presented to the American public by the media.
So I have to believe that those who believed that a shutdown was
necessary, knew what the consequences would be from a continued shutdown.
Yet they proceeded anyway.
The continued shutdown by mainly Dem governors and supported by the media is
about CONTROLLING THE MASSES, NOT SAVING LIVES.
Fact is, 99% of Government officials lie to your face and tell the truth when under oath. I can recall Adam Schiff for 1 but dont feel like looking up the others. Dems, Reps and Indis cant be trusted unless they'er under oath. Even then, its not a gurenteed.
@DrBoogie so your saying Democratic Governors wanted to destroy their local economies for something as trivial as saving lives.
You are aware that all of the infections and deaths since March have been done during an almost INTERNATIONAL SHUTDOWN. Most major cities in the world have a shutdown.
^Twist and turn things over and over.
Trump is at fault for the slow/late federal response to the pandemic and the lack of national strategy we have to this day. Yes there is a worldwide shut down in major cities around the world,
That has nothing to do with Trump.
Point to where in the comments above I said it has to do with Trump dumbass??
Trump didn't impose the shutdowns in the US yes Governors did.
Not just Dem Governors but most Governors. If the shutdowns where imposed when they where the virus would have exploded. There would have been healthcare overruns. Many more infections and many more deaths.
Those lives were saved by Governors yes!
@Jazz51. Wrong again. The CDC is a part of the government. The leader of the CDC is a presidential appointment. Trumps accountable and doubly so as he put unqualified people loyal to him in the top jobs. Several months before the coronavirus pandemic began, Trump (in addition to disbanding the pandemic response team) eliminated a key American public health position in Beijing intended to help detect disease outbreaks in China.
Trump has the bully pulpit, he has his Twitter, he has almost daily briefings. It was he that sent mixed messages and still refuses to set the example by not wearing a mask.
The politics in Japan doesn't allow them to call it an Order or a Lockdown. The State of Emergency "request for the people to stay home and reduce interactions with others by up to 80%."
Your article states "One widely shared list assembled 43 possible reasons cited in media reports, ranging from a culture of mask-wearing and a famously low obesity rate to the relatively early decision to close schools. Among the more fanciful suggestions include a claim Japanese speakers emit fewer potentially virus-laden droplets when talking compared to other languages.
Dude...quite honestly, the Japanese people are probably way more healthy than most Americans....but the fact remains...they accomplished their results with NO mandatory ANYTHING.....
If the Governors had outlined some things they thought should be done, many people would have complied. But they came out with some really crazy regulations......and people saw through the inconsistency, and rebelled like all good Americans do when their government oversteps and overreaches....
The Trump Administration defunded the pandemic response agency and tried to use cutting ties with the WHO as a negotiating tactic.
You can talk until you are purple about agencies being ineffective, but it's the President of The United States JOB to take responsibility for agencies and foreign policy and make it as effective as possible.
He's always been a shitty manager.
The Trump Organization's bankruptcies and lawsuits and bad investments weren't "someone else's fault"
That's objectively had an ill effect on what we're dealing with and that's on Trump.
Dude The State of Emergency "(((request))) for the people to stay home and reduce interactions with others by up to 80%."
Their politics there doesn't allow for a lockdown. Weather they were asked nicely to stay home is not relevant. Staying home, masks and distancing have been proven ways that have reduced the spread.
Their lack of obesity in their country is an added factor as well.
Japan was successful since they sent a more logical message...
Avoid what are called the “Three C’s” — closed spaces, crowded spaces and close-contact settings — rather than keeping away from others entirely.
If that had been the message from day one, from all states in the Union, especially those with large population cities in small spaces....and we isolated the rest homes and assisted living facilities and didn't do what New York and New Jersey did....send people with Covid to those facilities, the numbers would be way better.
I realize I'm mixing metaphors but it's apropos, lol
Wrestling stupid Doofy in the mud
You both get dirty but Doofy loves it
And, he will bring you down to his level of stupid
Then beat you with experience.
@jazz51 "Avoid what are called the “Three C’s” — closed spaces, crowded spaces and close-contact settings — rather than keeping away from others entirely."
A lack of an early nation strategy. If this had of come from the top early maybe we would be in the situation were are in today?
Frank...you do realize there are 137 independent executive agencies and 268 units in the Cabinet and over 2 million Federal workers....
If you are expecting Trump to be up to speed on every one of those employees, agencies and cabinet units...you are crazy. He is the CEO...he must rely upon reports provided to him....information from the Fauci's, or whomever are the 'experts' along the way....
You have an absurd expectation of anyone as President if that is your standard....but I doubt you are looking at this rationally, since you are probably a Trump hater....
Dude....Trump was hearing from his CDC experts, including Fauci who has served both Dems and Republican administrations that we didn't really have anything to worry about in the beginning when the 3 C's would have been effective.
