It will be hard to work out in a mask if your a heavy breather.
They survive from all those New Years resolution members that go in January and quit on February 1st never to be seen til the next January.
I wonder do people get a rebate for the time the gym has already been closed.
^^^I haven't gotten a rebate from 24hour fitness. But I only pay once a year. Maybe they will rebate people who pay monthly.
They are collecting fees but giving you extra months at the end of your contract. 24hr fitness in Texas should be open using those new guidelines. I haven't checked to see how it has been working out thus far. It sounds impossible.
I agree. I wouldn't want to work out under those restrictions.
KML, how does she only pay 89 a year?
Kiss Me Lucky, you go to 24 Hour Fitness?
Got an email from the CEO shortly after all gyms had to close. He had a bullshit line about crediting us for the month (they charged my account the day after all gyms were closed). Nice try, pal. The only way ongoing members get that back is if they cancel!
I went online & found 24 HF was making it really hard for people to cancel. You had to go to the "new membership" menu to do that! Sneaky bastards.
State of Washington had to sue them to quit being so shady. Way to lose even more customers.
You look at the twitter or youtube account where they explained their new procedures of of course they cut off commenting but it was clear from youtube there were more people pissed than happy.

KML, I've been a member of 24hour for 20 years. I pay 99 dollars a year. I wonder if pricing is different depending on County...
^^^yes I do.
I can go to any 24. Although I don't know what Ultra is.
I will never have a gym membership again. They are all crooks.
After the gym I belonged to in another state said I have to come in person to cancel and they didn't have any locations near me. I had to deal with the whole cancel through the bank thing which is always a pain in the ass.
I'd be pissed if I had to still pay the dues and the place is closed!
Fuck that noise.
Jesus, are some of you incapable of writing all your thoughts into one comment instead or 2 or 3? Or did Gina Galaxy hack your accounts?
If they really want to be Ultra they should offer complementary blowjobs.
Trying to workout with a mask on is a joke.
Just cancel and go jogging or swimming instead... seriously
"Don't be a part of it?" Beech, I STARTED this conversation!
I was joking too. if I wanted to call you a bitch I would've. I call people "beech" when I'm joking and add the sign.
Sigh... Anyway, back to the topic at hand.
1. Are there better solutions for gyms like 24 Hour Fitness?
2. Have other gyms announced plans similar or hopefully better ones than they?
3. If not, how long do you think these policies will last?
4. What are your alternate plans to work out?
I used to have Ultra and the location by JWA was pretty nice.
But the other nearby ones were good too.
I didn't have any problem cancelling a few years ago.
I will just cancel my membership and find another gym.
They sent me an email saying that they wouldn't be charging me while they are closed.
I pay $15 a month for two people. I've had this contract for over 25 years.
24 Fitness last charged in the month of April and told customers they will be given the extra time. Home gyms will be the new wave.

It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A

Most of us don't have enough room in our garage to set up a weight room. And I always need a spotter because I bench press more than 225 lbs. And I've shrunk so much.
Sigh...
SOA, until you get back to the gym I recommend body weight exercises. You won't need a spotter, and you can do them in your bedroom.
If you have 2 45lb. Dumbbells there are plenty of chest, arm, and shoulder exercises you can do with just those 2 weights.
I've found some great exercises and routines in Muscle and Fitness magazine.
If you live near a park with a pull up bar, use that to work your back and you can do hanging crunches to work your abs.
Also, plank position your ATF for an hour.
Uh simple
It sounds like they are doing it in waves.
Maybe 50-100 people come at 10a-1130a
They leave
Then at 1130a-12p close shut down
New group comes
12p-130p same thing..
Makes sense to me
Oh 11 ppl no thats stupid.
6ft apart on equipment what they need to do
Is remove equipment
And make it all 6ft apart
Then see how much equipment u have left
I always tho 24 was stupid lol

As far as refunds - Crunch is not charging monthly fees until they open. I think the year memberships will get a reduced rate when its time to re-up.
LA Fit suspended all charges while the lockdown is in force. No messages yet about reopening.
Ridiculous policy.
Gina, thanks for being the only person to actually address their policy in that way (though, as always, you took 2 consecutive entries to make it). It makes sense & I hope you're right. But I didn't "read it" wrong, I may've misinterpreted it based on the video.
I thought the latest finding is that the virus isn't as catchable from surfaces as previously believed? That would make the wipe downs unnecessary.
As for the different membership dues, it's up to $28 per month. Only able to use that specific location. To use any 24 HF location, it costs more, though hearing $89 & $99 per year, I wonder why my rate isn't much cheaper.
Again, has any other company announced similar and/or different policies re: workout conditions?

my gym stopped charging a couple of months ago...planet fitness.
