"MSNBC host and reporter Ali Velshi was reporting live from the streets of Minneapolis Thursday night, where St. Paul police say more than 170 businesses were vandalized and looted, with dozens more set on fire.
As one of those buildings burned directly behind him, Velshi did his best to sugar coat things.
"I want to be clear on how I characterize this," Velshi said. "This is mostly a protest. It is not generally speaking unruly."
Give me a break MSNBC...
You call yourself a "news" organization?...

Regarding MLK... The thoughts and words are relevant. I don't know how any FBI record under the J Edgar Hoover FBI could change the work MLK devoted his life to.
I think as a nation many of us have come a long way. A lot of bias that a person has towards another person is not always race based. But its still out there. The cop should be held accountable for the crime he committed, taking a mans life with depraved indifference.
With regard to the riots. That communities pain will be felt for over a decade and the sad part is some of them don't care cus they got a big TV for free.

Wonder how long youtube this to stay up. The mayor looks like a strong leader, lol.
|
|
^ exactly..
It's like the community gets totally enraged which I do understand.. but then they go on a robbing spree as if Oprah sanctified it and said "YOU GOT A TV!"

Note the picture carefully.:
1. Notice just one guy *could* be confirmed as black?
2. Notice the building is Arby's? What does Arby's have to do with the issue? I don't recall them picking sides.
3. Notice I said "rioting" Explain to where rioting is 'ok' for anything in a democracy?
Kudos to GE. Your powers of observation as amazing as you are beautiful

Yes looting is a crime, and there see people you will exploit these protests.
But the bigger picture is that this will not end: it will keep surfing (like it did with BlackLivesMatter) unless you recognize the current issues at hand as a problem and are willing to have a conversation about it.
Racism still exists: it went from slavery to lynching to segregation to now this. I don’t what to call it. BlackLivesMatter? Yes all lives matter White, Blue but there is this condition of young unarmed black men being killed...and this is by the police...because there are issues of racism out there and unless you except this as a problem, it will not end but continue to be a spark; here and there it flares up and one day it may be worse than this.

If you are gonna burn a fast food place down why couldn't it be a Long John Silvers? no one wants take out fish. Arby's is great and hard to find not one o them on every block.

First night I say alot of white people running in to that Target store. The looting isn't racially exclusive.

You people don't give a fuck about US. Peaceful or violent protest, if you people see two or more African-Americans in a group you call it a gang or a riot. When Martin was leading non-violent protests you beat US, killed US, turned dogs loose on US and called US agitators. You should be happy it's only property that's being destroyed. Some of us subscribe to a more aggressive and targeted approach based on the doctrine you people live by.

"Just wondering if any sane person would invest in the destroyed community"
"Nope go look in LA on Figueroa when the Rodney King riots hit..........the're still empty lots"
Clearly you retards did not pay attention in social studies. You fucker's don't invest in Black neighborhood unless you're price gouging or poisoning US. Ever heard of redlining? Ever heard of ghetto's or projects? Stop pretending this bullshit's genesis did not begin with you authoritarian motherfuckers.

White ignorant folks! Why are they burning down the buildings peaceful protest and voting is the best way to fight against injustices! Lol. Right! How has that worked? Humanity is more important than buildings. What has come out our looting might you ask? The 4 officers were fired immediately, Chauvin was charged ( quickest turnaround time an officer has been charged), and they are working on arresting the other officers ASAP. DA is loyal to the blue gang, so for him to charge right away means they are scared. If you are quiet, nothing will work. White America better wake up! The ignorants ones that is. There are many white people that get it and are out in the streets protesting also.

Lotsa trash talking behind phones or computer screens. If you aint out there what are you doing? TALKING thats right just talking shit to get a rise out of someone. Shut up and put your neighborhood out of business so we can have more parking for when the clippers build their own arena.

No BD I dont believe that.
You think the people of Minnesota want a punk Governor like this? You think they want a bitch ass Mayor like this? Noo
Even these crowds don't want those fools. And these crowds don't vote. They just bitch and moan like the assholes in this thread

Dems or Pubes? Who cares! So a Republican president will lead the minorities out this shit and stop making white people racist? Hmmm. Great concept!
|
|
Yes! Correct only white people can be racist.
|
|
Racism is definitely a white issue!

You can have your ignorant response about black on black crime, that’s easy hateful response.

@Electricwizard
It is getting tiring dealing with your dumb, racist posts: You wrote:
"These same thugs also believe in the false narrative that cops target blacks more when in reality cops kill more white people.”
I'll address this with an analogy:
When I was younger, I went to traffic school for a speeding ticket. During the class, the instructor said: “You know how they say that red cars get more tickets. Well, it’s not true. Silver cars get more tickets because there are more sliver cars.”
Electricwizard...you're just as dumb as that driving school instructor. What you want to know is not the number of killings, but whether there is a disproportionate number of black men/boys killed by cops than white men/boys that are killed by cops based on their percentage of the population.
But even that premise is a lie. Approximately 13% of the US population is black and 72% of the population is white; despite that, black men/boys are killed by cops 96 out of 100,000 deaths while white men/boys are killed by cops at 39 out of 100,000 deaths. So you're flat out wrong.
Beyond that, MLK is one of the greatest men that ever lived. There may be only a handful of men who have done as much good for society as him. Trying to tarnish MLK's undisputed accomplishments by naming a couple of unsubstantiated claims is absolutely disgusting. But assuming he did do those things, the man isn't perfect and he did contributed more to society than nearly every other human being.
@RespectfulJoe
Please don’t let these people get under your skin. You’ll find many types on this site, including dumb racists. It is better to ignore them than let them affect your emotional state. Sorry you had to read what is being spewed on here.
@Blue.Diamond
I’ve done everything I can not to criticize your numerous half-witted posts, but I’m sorry, I can’t let this go.
What the fuck does “not being born yet” have to do with writing a stupid, insensitive comment? Then writing some pseudo-religious criticism of anger is just bizarre and doesn't make sense. Think before you write something.
Also, it is widely known that investment in black neighborhoods has been a problem for decades.
The problem we have here is that there is real racism in police departments where black men and boys are targeted by racist cops. Period. You can't watch that video of the police officer's knee on the guy's neck and be disturbed by it.
The fact that people are rioting is also an obvious problem because they are destroying their own communities. But let's put things into context here. There has been a string of well-publicized murders of black men by the police that needs to end, yet it hasn’t. That is what is so disheartening out of all of this. Black people simply are not treated equally in this country, which is a fact. Yet now everyone wants to turn now focus on the rioting over what caused this who thing to begin with. The media is not the problem here. It is the racism, the inequality, and the lack of fundamental fairness in this country.

Looks like this unrest is making Dems run far from Klobuchar.
Also... CNN praises Gov Tim Walz for "showing what leadership in a crisis looks like" by releasing the arrested journalists. Such a stellar leader. He had the hotline to chief of Fake news Jeff Zucker to apologize...
" a CNN reporter, a crew, was arrested by the state patrol. A few minutes after hearing that, I was on a call with CNN president Jeff Zucker who demanded to know what happened. I take full responsibility. There is absolutely no reason something like this should happen. Calls were made immediately. This is a very public apology to that team. It should not happen

in LA - dragged out of car and beaten ?
|
|
@Healer is done healing I guess.
|
|
@mildlyamusing ... If we were only talking about the definite murder of a black man Id be with you 100%. Do you think these riots hurt anyone other than the very people rioting? I can understand the anger I dont understand the methodology ... The only thing being accomplished here is destruction and it isnt going to have an effect on this white mans life AT ALL. Im not rooting for bad things to happen I hope for nothing but the best but the sad reality is life is gonna get harder for those communities not better.
