Rioting attacking the police is doing nothing except possibly motivating marginal cops to go rogue thus perpetuating the divide that infects this country. I'm guessing the vast majority of people were outraged, but now the continued rioting will dissapate the unity of outrage, as George Floyd is forgotten as a human being and becomes a martyr.

I am sure all of the conservatives in this blog haven't seen the pictures of black men who formed a barrier around a separated police officer protecting him from potential harm. It doesn't fit within the narrative that you are being fed through conservative media.
There are many groups of people in the crowds that are demonstrating. You have those who are truly disgusted by the actions of a few racist cops that need to be consistently punished/ prosecuted to effectuate change where all citizens are served by the police equally.
Those people don't want to see the police hurt or their neighborhoods burn and looted. That defeats their purpose.
But you also have the opportunists who may be black, white, or any other color, who are joining in and causing trouble. They may want to seize the opportunity to further beat down those who are already downtrodden. What better way to ruin a movement for change than to make the demonstrators appear to be villains.

The protestors aren't thinking about COVID. Very little social distancing and not enough mask usage by a lot. I'd bet we're going to see an uptick in cases because of these large protests. COVID has killed, and disproportionality I should say, many more blacks, than these police officers they are protesting. I think they should take a raincheck and protest another day when it is safer, because this is just plain dumb.
