Yup and still kickin.
While covid-19 is serious, but not in the league of other pandemics.
The 1918 one was much worse by death count.
This one ain't over yet.
In 1918 I don't think they had that many commercial flights at that time so virus spread was somewhat confined to certain areas.
Also this situation is fluid so no telling where the numbers will ultimately end up. Even though there currently is no vaccine there are ventilators and other medical procedures that can help extend and save lives today. The numbers should be lower.
The numbers should be lower? We have had the flu for as long as I have been alive and it still kills 40-80 million Americans a year.
Between 1918 and 1921 the Spanish flu killed 5 million people around the world.
So you're saying this one is heading in the same direction?
I believe something like that was stated by Neil Ferguson before he was fired. His numbers were way out of line.
Ferguson is another doom and gloom.
Oh shit, I did a Biden!
Lou, I think we'd all be dead by now if the Flu was killing 40 to 80 million of us a year.
Lol yeah, but millions sounds better than thousands.
Spanish flu was between 1918 and 1921.
This is 350,000 world wide dead n 4 months.
If the latest estimate holds at 0.4% mortality with 7.8 billion people we are looking at about 30 million deaths. That’s assuming it Slow burns through the population over a few years. We may come up with a vaccine but we haven’t had much luck with corona virus vaccines and there’s no guarantee It will be 100% effective or enough people will be willing or financially able to take it to prevent continuous spread.
More likely big pharmaceutical will create ‘treatments’ that are expensive and need to be taken forever - like they did for AIDS They have no incentive to create cheap cures after all.

Dude,
"1918 Pandemic" or you're a racist.
"In 1918 I don't think they had that many commercial flights at that time so virus spread was somewhat confined to certain areas."
What a fucking idiot
Not that many commercial flights
We had WWI, ya moron, with thousands of troops packed on boats, all out fucking war in Europe, Russia, the Middle East..... with all the suffering you revel in.
The pandemic lasted 15 months and infected one third of the world with some estimates as high as 100 million dead.
Regardless of how much you love the Covid, it's never getting close to that record.
You're a more embarrassing human being than even Trump!
Btw, airplane first flight 1903, first commercial flight 1914, first airline KLM IN 1919
Stick around Doofy, you're a hoot.
Dumbass you had to google it yourself to find out
See how Doofy works?
"Spanish flu was between 1918 and 1921.
This is 350,000 world wide dead n 4 months."
Change 15 months into 3 years
Then don't say how many dead that time
Throw out a number that has no comparison but make it sound bad as possible
If Twitter gets a look at your posts, Doofy.
They gonna call you a liar!
Dumbase Doofy doesn't know to get the information rather than Google it.
In fact With this moron
The less you know the better
That way you can tell any lie you like
Awww Doofy, just say it
"I'm a liar"
It's the first step in the recovery process
Ahahahaha, how do you go out in the world with that mental deficiency?

The Black Death: The Greatest Catastrophe Ever. Ole J. Benedictow describes how he calculated that the Black Death killed over 50 million people in the 14th century, or 60 per cent of Europe's entire population. The disastrous mortal disease known as the Black Death spread across Europe in the years 1346-53
NickSgv nice job, Now how do we get the number of asymptomatic cases?
Assuming that asymptomatic people are part of an important equation.
“@Kaiser Permanente I just started responding to his stupidity a few days ago.”
2 things:
1. Boooooooool Sheeeeet. GBD has been pulling your string for MONTHS.
2. Your need to continually respond to him proves that you care... in the midst of saying, “I could care less about you. lol”
Ya'll got the "Wuhan Blues"
Of course, if you are going to statistically analyze the two pandemics, you need to normalize the dead based upon population comparison.....I think there were only 1.8 or 1.9 billion people alive in that era, compared to 7.8 billion, well over 4 times as many people.
@jazz51 valid point
