The best modeling I've seen has been done by Youyang Gu, an MIT graduate. From data of deaths from Johns Hopkins, he uses a standard infectious disease model with machine learning to input parameters to predict future cases and deaths for all 50 states and various counties, including LA and Orange County. He does make predictions if we're going to go through a second wave or not. If interested in his findings, I've attached a link to his website.

I disagree somewhat with his analysis. His models don’t consider an underlying network structure among all contacts. These models tend to overestimate growth rates of the virus. Therefore, while we may have a second wave, it shouldn’t be as large as he makes it out to be.
