@GBD .. I respectfully disagree... The Dems never got over the very good man but horrible President Carter. They have gone even more extreme than he could have ever dreamed.
Carter and Obama BOTH had no economic plan ... not many of our Presidents have really. People will point to the actions of 2008 that "saved" the economy. I say it saved Big Business in a huge giveaway for them and hurt the worker could have been a lot better off had they worked from the bottom up which would have been aid for the worker that therefore saved the big business.
Anyway. My point is you have never had a President that came to Office that said I'm going to do this this this and this and the economy will rebound until now.
Most Presidents allow OTHER nations and International Corporations to co.e up with an economic treaty and rubber stamps them and voila millions of jobs lost cus ooh my advisors said it was a good deal.

I really think AOC could win if she shut her mouth and the Dems just ran ads with that picture of her saying "You can vote with your pants off". People don't care enough about the issues to vote with their heads, or in their best interests, but they'll vote for a hot bitch saying to get naked.
If Biden loses, I think he'd be the biggest loser in US history. No president has ever been reelected with the economy in such turmoil. Trump's presiding over the greatest recession in a hundred years, a global pandemic, and nationwide protests against the government from people on BOTH side of the aisle. Stagflation alone has been enough to get incumbent presidents ousted in the past. It doesn't matter who's to blame. Or it hasn't mattered in the past. Presidents take credit for good economies, basing much of their platform on it, and accordingly are held responsible for bad economies. Colin Powell's voting for Biden. Bush and Romney said they're not voting Trump, and might vote for Biden. Military leaders are denouncing Trump. For Trump to get reelected, with 2020 all happening under his watch, would really make Biden look like a halfwit.
