Powers that be, no longer want the public to see what the police
face on a regular basis.
Also I don't see how erasing the history of slavery and the discrimination
of Blacks will improve their status in society.
There have been tremendous improvements in race relations
since The Civil Rights Act of 1964, but some want "equality now."
due to past injustices.
If the U.S. is such a racist and unjust country, I wonder why millions
have come here both legally and illegally?

As usual the same wrong conclusions about what needs to change. The reason for the removal of gone with the wind is the un realistic depiction of slavery. The reason for removing cops is the glorification of violence by police. You guys really are clueless.

My dead grandmother, my dad, and my uncle are racist. I love my family. But they're wrong, and i make sure i point out their racist views often. We Japanese know we are not white, and we hide our racism. Ive never admitted this to anyone. When people say, why cant they be more like the Japanese. I laugh. You people dont know shit to say that. Cops should be people we trust and respect. My experience with the police has been great. I must be a good citizen. But, if was black i already know what my grandmother would think of me. I challenge you clueless to try and imagine how your life would change if you were black. I bet most wont get past where you grew up. Where you went to school. How people treat you walking down the street. At least in this thought experiment you can choose to be black.

If you haven't been, i encourage you to go to the Japanese American National Museum in LA.
I've been and met with a docent who described his experience in the internment camps.
Also, very long time family friend whose parents lost their farm when they were forced to go.
Fortunately, his white friends kept the farm going until he got out and it was returned to him and his family.
Horrible story especially in light of the fact that a Japanese/American in ETO, the 100th/442nd Infantry Regiment became the most decorated unit in U.S. military history. You most likely already know all this.
Done by a Democrat President and many Dems and Reps in direct contravention of the Constitution.
I encourage you to scroll down and read the Washington Post and LA Times Editorials on the subject at the time in the 3rd link on internment camps..........fucking terrible.
But, let's also be honest that the Japanese in Japan are some of the most racist people on the planet judging by what their government has done over the last 50 years to both white, yellow and black.

My maternal grandparents had a small grocery store and lived in a small house. After 4 years in postin Az my grandparents came back to a burned down store and a trailer to live in. My paternal grandparents had "white" neighbors watch their nursery business and house when they were sent to Wyoming. My mom, dad and 2 aunts were born in camp. I had 3 uncles serve in the military. 1 was in the 442nd. I had family members that volunteered to work in the museum. Ive seen the pictures of my family in camp. Ive heard the stories of hardship. They did what the president told them to do. The pictures of smiling faces doing every day things like my grandfather playing tenor sax in the camp big band. Pictures of my dad at 2 or 3 years old bundled up like a little eskimo. Every person sent or born in camp got $20,000.00 and an apology. Thats my family history. I never thought the museum would do the stories told to me justice. Its not slavery. Thank god. I love our country. My fucking dad voted for trump. Go figure.

But little do they know that they got the lovely lavender parfum that they sprayed on the flyers mixed up with their home made mosquito repellent.

Well, it's clear that most of those individuals (many of them people of color, BTW) do NOT find this to be a "racist and unjust country". It's simply a small subset of a particular racial group that has that issue. However, the political power that depends on 95%+ them voting consistently for their candidates will do everything they can to pander to them.
Now before I proceed any further, I wish to make something clear, given that this site, like most online these days, is highly polarized politically. I am not a Republican, Trump voter/supporter or anything of the like. I fully recognize that the only reason he was elected in the first place was not because anyone really thought he was a great guy, because the Democrats made the horrible choice of running Hillary Clinton as their candidate in 2016. Having said that, I would not doubt one bit that the constant media drumbeat about George Floyd (a convicted violent criminal, BTW) and "racism in America" is being encouraged by the Democrats on account of it being an election year.

There's no "glorification of violence" whatsoever, in fact the complete opposite. What the hard left objects to is presenting cops as sympathetic human beings, which goes against their agenda to demonize everyone in law enforcement and portray criminals as victims of an unjust, racist police state. This is the same reason that cities full of wacko left-wingers such as Berkeley CA are now opposed to bodycams and dashcams. The fact that a camera that has no political agenda of its own might document some of the real behavior of the criminal element that would take the wind out of the sails on their argument that there's widespread police brutality in this country.

When I was in college, UC Davis, college of engineering - go Aggies!, I had a couple of friends & classmates that were Black and really great guys. We were all from southern Cal so kinda bonded because of it, but our backgrounds were completely different. I was from Chino Valley and they were from South Central L.A. One grew up in a neighborhood that was controlled by crips the other grew up in a neighborhood that was controlled by bloods. They never really went into what it was like growing up in those neighborhoods and I didn't ask, and I never went into what life was like on the reservation and they didn't ask. But I did ask how they got out. The answers were the same - They didn't want that life for their future kids, wanted to get their parents, grandparents etc out if they could. That drove them and they realized that education was the 'magic bullet' but they'd have to work their asses off to get to where they wanted to go.
I still talk to them and sometimes hire them as out side consultants. Still great guys. But they can't stand BLM, Antifa and all the bullshit that's being spewed. Their bottom line - If you want out you get yourself out. No one owes you anything.
Their kids went to UCLA, Berkley, Arizona and Cal Tech. Not a bad legacy.

Of course they might feel that way cause they're in their mid 50's so have a different view point, although we never really got into why they felt that way, we don't really talk about race, politics or the like. Then there is the fact that they're both republicans which I imagine is the complete opposite of your political view.
