Get onto Pine Knot Street off of Big Bear Blvd, it's in the Village...
Big Bear Lake Brewing Company
Peppercorn Grill
Nottinghams
572 Social Kitchen & Lounge
Fire Rock Burgers & Brews
Jasper's Steakhouse
El Jacalito Grill
There's more, but those are the places that I have been to over the years...

^ how about renting a house in big bear and cooking.
Now that’s awesome

Who wants to cook on vacation Belly ?
It’s the sense of communionship bro...
Laughing with your bros as you flip the burger patties...and drinking while you’re at it...
That's cool and all, I get it... but when I personally am on vacation, I want to experience the local flavors and get a vibe for the local people
I always ask some locals....don't tell me where the tourists go, where do YOU eat when you go out and where do you get a good craft beer.
Probably not what you're looking for but I ate there the last time I was at Big Bear lake.
I like to do a little bit of both when I’m out on vacation.

Try this , inexpensive but good. Locals eat here.

Haven’t been up there in so long..... Is Chad’s Place(?) still around?
don't think I have been up there for over 20 years...used to have season passes for skiing and could get on the slopes in less than an hour after school
Peppercorn is the only decent place up there.
Best bet, bring your own food.

^ Gloomy with a chance of meatballs

Seriously, Victoria Gardens is at the 10 and 15. Load up with good food and climb. I’ve had salads in big bear that taste like burnt bacon from some of these places on the lowliest, and fruit that tastes like it’s been in a fridge for a month. And let’s not get started about the steaks, or what passes for meat.

Village Pizza is really good for pizza, but I can't remember anything about what else that they may have on their menu.
I liked Sweet Basil Bistro the one time that I ever went there.
Murray's Saloon is good for drinks and karaoke. I never had their pub style food, but my friends swear by it.

I thought that El Jacalito was unexpectedly excellent Mexican food
Who thinks of Big Bear and Mexican food ? But it's a good spot indeed
El Jacalito is hit or miss, as the quality of food depends on the cook behind the counter. 14 visits in 9 years, only good times was when the main cook was not in.
I guess that I have been lucky then...
I go about every Summer for a week or so...
Been there probably 10 times...
But yeah, a Cook can be a huge difference in quality and taste, so I feel you bro

Oakside bar and grill. The best restaurant in the I. E.

Chad's Place moved down by the marina and then closed for good.
Whiskey Dave's moved into the old Chad's (across from the movie theater) and is open and just as divey as the old Chad's.

For breakfast, checkout the Barnstorm Cafe at the Big Bear City airport. Its just off the runway and transient airplane parking area, so its a good place for airplane spotting while you eat breakfast. A lot of pilots will fly up there in the morning, when the air is cool and stable, eat at the cafe and then fly back home.
Typical greasy spoon diner fare.
