Well I use Uber a lot, but where I stay it never costs more than $3 or $4. I am guessing it is more expensive in other parts of the World.

The reason prices for Uber have skyrocketed recently is because all of the smart uber drivers are collecting unemployment.

I stand corrected, forgot about Surge pricing. Lyft offering 6-7$ extra per trip til . So if I drive, pretty much the same as EDD.

Just remember, what a rider pays, the driver only gets 40-50% of that. And still 3 times less than a taxi. If you see a surge rate of 2.7-3.0 those are taxi rates. In a few cases Uber Black maybe the way to go.

Lamar... that pissed me off. I got a flat. My trunk was full of crap... and It was 100 degrees. So I thought.... hmmmm my annual renewal is up next month. I haven’t used any of my AAA tows... I’ll just have the tow truck take me the 50 miles home... and then I can use my floor jack later in the evening.
Then the lady at AAA told me I couldn’t ride in the tow truck and would have to arrange another ride....
Grrrrrrrrr! 😡
So I bit the bullet and changed it myself.

I posted on a local app and get $100 a ride 35 miles to the airport. The beauty of the whole thing is that im driving a loaner car with unlimited miles!

I was just in a Midwest city where I rented an AirBnB apartment that was a thirty minute walk from party central in this city.
One evening, I wasn't up for the walk, so I checked Uber for a lift to the apartment. They quoted me $30 saying things were busy. A nearby cab quoted me $10....the defense rests....

Sometimes one can get a Higher end Uber or Lyft for less than uber x or reg lyft. But many don't check that.

Here’s a tip for LAX (likely at most airports as well).
Take a free shuttle to any of the major hotels, like the LAX Hilton. Then order your Uber or Lyft from the hotel. It will be less than 50% of the cost of taking it from the airport and you’ll get in the car more quickly. This is especially true when LAX is really busy.
I discovered this a month ago when I had Uber and Lyft cancel on me 3 or 4 times because there were too many people looking for ride sharing at 10pm on a Sunday night.

To add one more thing, logically, a driver being called into the airport can waste 30 minutes or more just getting into the airport.
It’s much easier and efficient for them to pick you up outside of the airport at a nearby hotel. That’s why it costs so much less and why it is faster.
It is a shitshow at the ride sharing section of the airport now.

You get Cancelled on from LAX cause your trip sucked, no profit in it for the driver. And may not tip them either.
I sure as hell not spending an hr doing a 12 mile to Hollywood. F that.
And with Up Front Pricing now a days, not likely I'm taking anyone to LAX from the IE. Exception, it's early in my start time and I want to end up in OC. As U/L have figure out how to yet again short change the driver and pad there bottom line.

The drive isn’t reported / traced, you have no idea who is driving you or their intentions and there is no insurance if something happens.
Saftey is always #1 priority even if it comes at a cost

Super Shuttle is a tried & true resource - don't forget them.
Been operating for decades.

Stue yeah he's unstable ! He was a regular friend of mine then had told me that he hoped that I got shot and killed by the police followed by a series of N words, all because I refused to see him
Fast forward a few years later he apologizes then does the exact same thing because I won't allow him over to my private place. Lol
I'm so lucky to have respectful and loving friends that I forget how mentally unstable some people are especially someone offering rides to ladies .
Just wanted to to give a heads up and that way if someone just so happens to have his other handles they'd be able to link them and avoid at all Costs.

I am an Uber/Lyft driver. Have a couple of regulars here that I drive for regularly for a few years. No issues at all.

This pile of s*#% has threatened robbing women on here & has made comments about hoping providers get shot & die. He clearly is a cry baby & when he doesn't get his way he becomes unhinged. He's undoubtedly unstable, dangerous, has mental health issues. And to make matters worse his network is a negative 3 for crying out loud! Why is HX and it's moderators allowing this scum to continue to terrorize & threaten providers. As if our job isn't scary enough at times, now we have to worry about this douche bag's however many profiles he possesses. Wake up & get this pile out of here!!!

Lyft claims or is trying to bring this back. Even though it didn't happen back then. Question is, is there enough women drivers to support this ?
As for me, I'm done driving the IE. It is impossible to make more than minimum wage for a while now. Well even in OC too. But ?
I no longer take people to LAX unless it's a Sunday. This "Up Front Pricing" does not allow for waiting in traffic times. And both Lyft and Uber are taking 55-65 % of what the riders are paying.
Plus on the longer trips over say 12 miles drivers start getting shorted. I saw a trip just sit there from Riverside to the 710 near Long Beach , the pay was 38$ on a 61 mile trip, which the mileage is always short. I'm sure it was closer to 70 miles. A trip like that use to pay about 55 $ using the Rate Card before UFPricing.
Remember if your rider is willing to pay cash , they do not have Insurance coverage.
