Dud... it’s obvious you didn’t read where I believe Trump wrongfully held back aid in order to get dirt on Biden.

He bought time to create capacity we ended not needing. He stalled out a high octane economy to do it. He is in a lose, lose, lose position. Early he attempted to take control of the National response... but the governors pushed back and said, “No. you can’t tell us what to do.” He backed off. You can’t have it both ways.... Either he AND Newsom, Coumo and the others are inept... or they are all leaders finding their way through a pandemic unlike anything seen in modern times.
Do you think Trump and Barr are colliding to try to get the investigations dropped of Trump and his allies in the southern district of New York. If yes, do you see that as corrupt. Absolutely. He is using his position to influence things toward the outcome he desires. Corrupt... not yet. The law determines corruption. As far as I can see, the Barr works at the pleasure of the President and is working (within the law) to carry out his desires. Our culture determines ethics. In a historical context, I would consider this an abuse of his authority and unethical. With that said, Trump has ALWAYS snubbed his nose at cultural ethics.

I think he said that as a statement of fact with his tongue firmly planted in his cheek. If you watch the context of the 2 clips.. he was clearly not saying testing should be slowed. But... it’s a good sound bite to get a hold of. It’s similar to President Obama’s, “You didn’t build that” statement. In context he clearly was not belittling small business people... but the Republicans ignored the actual context and beat him with it every chance they got.

Trump did pressured via Justice Dept sending a letter to governors saying "we believe that the constitution calls for ...to do more to acmmodate religious worship" though it is up to each governor to decide when.

Use google... their 100s of articles about governors telling Trump, “You can’t tell us what to do.” It’s a federal system with states rights. That is why that nonsense has been going on in Seattle for weeks.
The governors made their calls. The justice department letter was about unfair application of re-opening standards. Churches were being discriminated against. In stage 3, you could go to a restaurant, Home Depot or The furniture store if you adhered to proper social distancing guidelines... but those same standards were not available to churches. The JD letter wasn’t, “Let houses of worship go for it however they want.” It was churches argued they should be included earlier in the re-opening process with the same standards as other businesses.
The argument was also... should faith based organizations be considered “essential” during a crisis like this.
So the “letter” was about how the governors was a challenge to apply the standards fairly... not when churches should open.
Concerning the testing... I heard Trump’s comment about testing and numbers going up. I did not hear he said he was serious. If he did.... than that is just stupid.
So you and Donny have that in common.

At earlier stage of pandemic, each governors, Republicans or Democrats, were crying out for shortage of testing.
