I started smoking as a teen because I wanted to feel cool. I am 57 and quit 10 years ago. All the adult years I smoked the only thing I "enjoyed" about smoking was it relieved the craving for nicotine. I hated myself for smoking. I hated having something that controlled me. The last ten years have been my happiest, and that is largely due to quitting.

Nicotine is highly addictive and a bitch to quit once you are addicted. Why else would people put up with the stink, cost and inconvenience?

I have to admit that finding out that a girl that catches my eye smokes is a huge turnoff... just sayin
