Definitely, Trump had been abused by his father, who taught him one philosophy only, which is "kill" and "be a king".
Trump's eldest son, Fred Trump Jr was on the brink of suicide and became alcoholic, and died in his earlier age (he is Mary's father, I believe) when Fred Trump Sr pushed his eldest son, Fred Jr to succeed his family business. Instead Fred Jr became a pilot.

Comparing Trump to anti-heroes in Western Movies, or to Dirty Harry ? I watched all those movies in that article and I have all of them in blu ray. I especially respect John Ford, Sam Pekinpah, and Clint Eastwood as film directors. I do own about 1000 blu rays for all types of movies in my collection, and I watch them with a front projector (I am a movie buff, among other hobbies I have).
I don' know, but I personally think that comparing Trump to anti-heroes is only partially correct, but mostly wrong. Trump is an anti-establishment for sure, but as Bolton says, he does not have any philosophical foundation of how to govern or any ideological goals to lead us. That is a huge issue, for one thing, and he is here for personal gains, not for all of us. Does he really have a respect for his supporters? Where is he leading us, to a brink of annihilation in the middle of this pandemic?
I think the comparison of Trump to those antiheroes in Western movies are too naive or too romantic.
I don't know about you, but the most touching scene in "The Searches" is when Ethan Edwards, John Wayne character, an Indian hater, tried to save his niece (abducted by Indians) at the end of the movies (we get an feeling he would killer her because he thought she would never have a normal life), and then, he quietly disappeared into the wild again.
I can not imagine Trump would do such thing at all. He would have killed her and he would still make a noise saying it was not his fault. That is his style for sure.

If what you want is to let someone to play a "trickster" role in establishment in politics, I have to agree with you in principle.
However not everybody can be qualified as a trickster. He or she has to be a very intelligent and possess secret tricks to dismantle the established organization from within. Trickster has to know what he or she is doing exactly at any moment and for each step at exposing and demolish the corruption within.
What Trump is doing is too random, and disorganized, and we can not expect or guess what he is intending to do at any moment, to be honest with you. If Trump is doing destruction in the establishment for just for the sake of the fun of it, wrecking and crashing anything he touches for no other reasons than that, nothing new will come out from the carnage. Just a ruin all over our state to see.
