On this hot day is a must. I do enjoy all kinds but when it comes to a scoop on a cone rocky road or strawberry is my favorite ππ¨ Thrifty ice cream is heather best !

My current favorite is mango ice cream. I thought Haagen-Dazs was the best, until Baskin-Robbins added their mango flavor. It tastes completely different from the Haagen-Dazs, and is even better.
I am more into Gelato. There some very good places around O.C. that make their own Gelato. My
favorite combination is the dark chocolate with blueberry or a mixed berry Gelato with the dark chocolate.
Persian ice cream, Rose Water Saffron and Orange Blossom from Mashti Malone's in Hollywood.
Worth the drive.
Otherwise almost anything Ben and Jerry's except Cherry Garcia.

Kat has it right! Something about the way thrifty ice cream is perfect. They freeze it just right so that when you lick it you are practically eating it. Chocolate chip and mint & chip together! I remember in the 90βs when it was .55 cents per scoop. I think it was .35 in the 80βs. Damn Iβm old!
Strawberry, but must have real strawberries and have intense strawberry flavor. I also eat my ice cream as licking is not fulfilling enough. Anyone else like me with regards to "eating" their ice cream?
Gbanama: back in the '70s, Thrifty's ice cream was 5 cents a scoop. there was a chain of drug stores, Clark's, just like Thrifty's, that served ice cream.
If you are ever near Disneyland stop at Joe's Ice on Harbor Blvd. south of Katella Ave. Place gets a long line in the evenings but Joe's Ice has some great Italian ice. they do these combos of ice and ice cream. The pineapple ice is sugar free but you would not know it.
When I was a kid up to my teens, my dad and I would go back packing in the Sierras. There was an 'old time' drug store in Independence that had the best ice cream and it was all made at the store.
The best was their Banana Nut. Never found the flavor any where else but there and it was just killer.
