Yeah but I have been thinking of breeding myself, so adopting will guarantee they are fixed. At least from what I understand.

|
I like doggie style, if that helps you out

Ocguy that’s my favorite too

|
Cool! Let’s breed

The reason you cannot get an unspayed dog from a shelter is that state law requires them to be spayed before release.
The reason for the law is that we already have way more than enough dogs. We do need more owners.
Please reconsider the breeding idea.

I agree with Gina Galaxy. Please look into a rescue or shelter before going to a breeder and please please don't breed them. There are many many great awesome dogs in the rescues or shelters. I've worked in rescue for many years and there are so many that need that second chance and just want a home to be loved in. You can find a young or puppy pit at these places trust me I've rescued and fostered so many. Please look into that first.

You probably already know this, but depending on your living situation, certain breeds are hard to get through a rental/lease agreement.... If you own, then you’re good.

My family has been breeding since I was young.
I’m looking at all my options.
I know everyone is going to drill me to adopt, trust me I get it.
But please understand I am looking for my own reasons.

And yes ocguy trust me it took me a minute to get my insurance for my house, I already got my pitbull.

I bought a bred dog. Male, now 4 mo and still Un-fixed.
He's an attractive SOB and every day, I shit you not, every day I take him for a walk, I am asked if he's fixed and people give me their # willingly so I can call them if I ever get my hands on pups.
People want what they want so I get the breeding thing. I had to get mine from a breeder because I have a severe allergy person at home and needed a hypoallergenic dog if I stood a chance at ever owning a dog. Paid a pretty price for him but I love my damn dog and my allergy sufferer is right as rain with him around.
I made the decision that I won't ever breed my dog because of the overpopulation in shelters thing, although, with his papers in hand (as I have) I could put him out to breed for a nice $$sum per litter and get pick of the litter.
Before him I fostered to help shelters during high volume times. I've fostered maybe 15 dogs and socialized, trained and found homes for each of them. I asked each of the organizations to help me find a hypo dog and they could not provide one. I went to a breeder for one.
You can find MANY pits & rotts at MANY shelters. Try to re-consider your intentions and your motivations.

Please go to a no kill shelter and rescue a dog there! Have several dogs this way and they know that you save their life!

But the thing is it is my pet, I just want puppies.
My dog is the last of her line. I had her parents and got her parents, one from family and the other I got from Arizona. My dogs brothers and sisters went to my families home.
I want to be able to have the line , in my family. Mainly to breed one time.
My pet is my family.
So please again I’m looking at all options, I just know I don’t want to be shut out if I end up wanting more puppies.
I have seen some dogs go for 15k that’s not what I’m looking for. I’m looking for someone who possibly has puppies not looking completely for a dog with papers.

If you do go with a breeder, California breeders are almost always more expensive. Check out breeders in NV, AZ and even UT, they are all less than CA...

Always thought it was strange when people say, "My pet is family" and then immediately replace them when they die or in this case replace them while still alive.
My dogs died a couple years ago, I am still not ready for a new one.

Zeros, That’s why I’m looking now.
I think if I have one I won’t hurt so bad.
I have the means for another one, so why not give her company as well?
I appreciate everyone’s feedback.
I just know a lot of us do a lot of different things wasn’t sure if maybe someone in the community had options

Personally, I think the ADBA APBT game lines are the better choice than some breeder with over 60lb+ and blue dogs. It's better to know it is to standard for the breed than winding up with a child dead, in court, or someone injured with everyone trying to pull them off as legitimate pit bulls when they are in fact mixed after DNA results.
I hope you do some research before selecting a breeder .
For me, I'm looking at a Dalmatian in the farrrr future because the APBT animal aggression, stigma, difficulty with housing in the past, couldn't ship my APBT to Miami to work due to the ban, inability to go to dog parks, and I would have to go through sitter after sitter that wasn't willing to watch mine when I was preparing to go on tour.
Have you looked into other breeds?

be careful some rip off online breeders...if the price is "half"...it's probably a ripoff and will want you to wire money and bitcoin VS credit cards or paypal
recently looked into getting a few weiner dogs. getting ready to pull the trigger, but some of my emailed questions and comments were getting ignored completely or half-ass answered
mentioned to them at least twice that we used to have a half wiener/half german shepard...and NOTHING. for a breeder that has been dealing with wiener dogs for 20 years...seemed odd I could not get some sort of comment about that? "ANYONE" that EVER hears about the combination starts laughing and asking how that happened? there is no way those people have been around that breed for 20 years. we started researching pictures online and the dogs were award winners in different countries from years ago.
ended up finding a good breeder with a farm in Iowa for a couple of cockapoos...cute lil fuckers...lil stupid sometimes, don't think they got enough poodle
