“Trump is China's first and last choice as President. There is zero doubt about that. How else can China reach its goal with a smart and competent president at helm? “
Yeah... China hasn’t been doing this for 35 years. They just started in 2017.
And.... all of the other Presidents called them on their bullshit and took steps to check them. Oh... no they didn’t.

It's very clear that Trump envy's and seeks approval from the "strong man" dictators. He continuously praises Putin, Erdoğan. Kim, Bolsonaro etc. and struggles with democratic and meritocratic leaders like Merkel. The pathology is obvious. He's unquestionably a chronic narcissist and as such believes he's entitled to the position and has no sense of accountability to the people, resents the mechanisms of accountability and will never admit his accountability for the abject failures of his administration.

The rest of the Washington Post articles highlight Trump’s achievements.
Has the Post ever written Anything positive about Trump?

Catching up on my reading, the Chinese are already writing off Trump.
His actions may be trying to agitate Beijing into a fight that Trump can rally his loyal people to, but like people say, China is playing the long game and using their money to consolidate their allies and purchases around the globe where the US has exited.
Trump may push harder, if his ego is to be dated.

Regarding your comment from part 1...
“...Vietnam and Taiwan would intervene and smash them.”
Why are these nations doing nothing to stop the militarization of the S China Sea?
