People have the right to update their opinion when new information comes in. Of course to the uninformed person and/or to the person that may have antipathy towards that other person for one irrational reason or another, that may seem like a flip-flop.
Secondly, this Wuhan lab escape is gaining much of its traction because it is the hypothesis that is most interesting for a number of reasons, not because it is the most likely. To the average layman who is not a scientist, the fantasy of a science experiment gone bad causing havoc in society is a story that has captured the attention of people for hundreds of years now. Think Frankenstein, Dr. Faustus, Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, etc... Also, the story allows people to put the blame on China and Fauci for the pandemic. It's a lot easier to be angry at your chosen human enemies than at a seemingly inanimate virus.
Don't try to cover for him. He intentionally lied to the American people to keep them from 'hoarding' masks. He has consistently changed his 'story' based upon his audience. He has totally loved his 'celebrity' status, appearing on all the 'talk shows'.....

New revelations show that just before the pandemic broke out a number of Wuhan lab workers were striken by a disease and may have been hospitalized. This lends further credence to the lab theory.
I think the issue is that ppl who questioned the wet market theory, which included some in the scientific community, were laughed at and ridiculed and labeled trump supporters and not given any respect for their challenging the narrative that served a faction of government get back into political power.
True scientists are always open to modify and change their views when more factual information is presented despite political leanings and financial gain or loss. When political leanings and financial gain become more important than publicly stating factual information then their word don't mean much despite how many degrees and expertise they have. They have been compromised.

I didn’t know the issue of where the virus came from was solved. And we don’t know what information certain people had then or have now, which could make someone reconsider a hypothesis.
I think too many people here are uncomfortable with uncertainty. For people here, there always has to be an answer. And usually the answer comes from a confirmation bias based on a person’s political leanings.

Fauci seems to adapt when the data changes. That was the case with masks and asymptomatic spread last year. It is the case with changes in current mask recommendations as more data comes in about how effective the vaccines are.
Trump on the other hand when new data came would waver back and forth an ultimately go back to his preconceived ideas.
The thing about the mainstream media is that while they clearly have a bias and cherry pick what facts they will bring up, what they report are usually verified facts (mixed in with a lot of opinion; you just have to separate them). I can trust them that much.

Fauci needs to be relieved of his command. The highest paid federal employee has picked up a few prions in his 80 years and needs to be put out to pasture, preferably with his friends in China.
Fauci knew from day one this virus came from the lab he funded, including strongly advocating for and funding idiotic gain of function research. He knows he has blood on his hands; that's why he accepted and wanted the world to believe a natural origin.
Now that the truth is coming out, he's trying to backpedal.
He and other supporters of the Wuhan lab need to stop running interference and step aside. China's not going to let the real truth get out, but for God's sake, Americans shouldn't be their apologists.

The analysis requires the understanding of statistics at a minimum of o e college level class that includes Bayes therom. Both of these can be accomplished by taking classes on youtube. As far as where it originated, there is no doubt it was the Wuhan are of China. It was either the lab or the wetmarket. The fact that SARS-CoV-2 was collected by Chinese Wuhan lab scientists with U.S. funding granted by Fauci under Obama, made more infectious in the Wuhan lab, and released (presumably accidentally) into the public resulting in the deaths of millions of people world wide has nothing to do with Trump.
