Can I see footage first before I make a recommendation?

What camera did you use?

;-)

Looking forward to helping you out.

Depends on what you're looking for. Some phones have OK capabilities but you really can't control them as much as a stand-alone camera. Stills or video? Just finished a shoot last weekend with stills, turned out just fine. Made a living doing this back in the day. If interested in options let me know. Still have access to a lot of gear including green screens for changing backgrounds.

My Canon D90 does 4K video and great stills depending on the lens, but isnt cheap at +$1K.
They have a cheaper model called the Canon T8i and runs (body only) for about $700.

The light is more important than the camera. Phones today are capable of fantastic photos and video. If the footage is poor it’s more likely an issue with the light or support. Get a cheap tripod and try to ensure you’ve got light. Early morning is best.

My standard is 3 phones/cameras with stands at different angles, one phone for whoever has a free hand to hold it for close shots. At least one of them will have amazing video until the battery or memory runs out.

You have to start backwards. Where is the finished product going? I can take you to the National Association of Broadcastors Show in Las Vegas Exhibitors section and show you ever video camera maker have all their cameras hooked up, pointed to models or colorful sets to allow purchasers from all over the world to compare their small port unit to the largest models used for football coverage. I know you are interested in consumer quality cameras, but the point I am making there is real difference in from consumer to semi-pro to pro-line cameras. So price is the first question.

Second question, where is the footage going to be used. If is going on the internet only, less quality is needed. Going DVD or broadcast; highest quality.

Third, are you or anybody esle going to edit and color process this? Now, even the medium level video editors include video processing. What does that mean? You can take video from a cheap camera and improve it. You can take video from different cameras and make it all look the same or give it a different look. Adjust the color, contrast, white balance, etc.. You may know someone who can do that for you. The current trend now is to adjust one's camera settings to what would be considered "dull", but actually these settings gives the editor maximun range to adjust in "post."

In short, what is the final product going to be used for, how much do you want to spend for the camera, and is it going to be used for this or do you have other plans for it?

The older gals on here always posting grainy low light photos.
I do love me some HX GILFs however I noticed that the photos are always bad.
Maybe it’s just that older folks use cameras on flip phones. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Now, typically recent contemporary smart phone cameras have an excellent quality.
With camera & lighting attachments decent for close single user shot. Canon D90, is a good level. Some of the vloggers may list Cameras in Description, like this, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Md4vhSmsnxY. Around 19:22 explains render proxy, reducing 4k to edit in smaller resolution to ease the laptop, they can return to 4k. Ideally Shoot without having to do in-dept editing. Editing is a pain.

For lighting the room for 2 or more people.

Improper lighting can cause image quality problems. The concerns for lighting is Brightness, Color Temperature, Shadows, & Distance.
Brightness is measure in Lumens. Light Color is known as Color Temperature. Theses are both fairly new terms, lumens use to be watts or candle per sq inch.
Color Temperature known as. Warm Light Scale 3000k and below is typically the most appealing Color Temperature. Kind of brushes over humans deemed imperfections.

A Photographers Guide to Color Temperature
https://medium.com/the-coffeelicious/a-photographers-guide-to-color-temperature-6bbc882d1524

There's how-to videos out there. Lighting Kits, photograph beginners kit. Also you may discover you don't need to buy specific gear. Just improvise with getting correct Lumens & Temperature light bulbs and placing them in the rooms lamps and take the shades off. Or having a portable lamp.

Any reflective surfaces could potentially be used as a lighting "umbrella" or "softbox". I've use white coated card stock to "spill the light". Could place in arm chair next to bed. But need to find a holder for reflective surfaces if not buying actual gear.

Starting independently you'll need to do tests to adjust to what your liking is. If you can get with a person who has a photo studio using their lights to understand and use that info for your benefit.

For video angle techniques. For an Adult film Industry equivalent. Mainly photographer moves around with Multiple angles, closeups. That's typically how it's done. If you don't want a photographer. 2 cameras on 2 Tripod for 2 different angles. Should be sufficient. With occasional non-featured talent grabbing camera to get close shots of the featured talent. Warning In-dept editing may be needed.
The amateur videos of consistently showing only side of the talents for the duration of the video or showing most of non-feature talent, is bad.
Objective is to see as much of the featured talent, what the featured talent is experiencing and how.Non-featured talent has hint of being there.
There are good examples of one camera shot that are used in Adult Films.
https://bangbros.com/video38485/sativa
Non-featured talent is performing, & recording. Moving the Camera to get the feature talent. Left it I think unedited. Has a real, loose pleasant feel to it. Now all that work is tough to do all at once, learning curve. Go easy on the person. You'll see this type of camera work in some of the amateur channels, pornhub.com/model/misswetbrunette. They have skills.
Also Behind the Scenes recording can be extra easy content. Trying on different outfits, shaving, peeing, showering, shaving, warm up, after effect...

The maximum array size you will see in the theater is 4096. But "Cinema Quality is more than just the pixel array size. The original capture is in high dynamic range and a color gamut that extends beyond what many displays can reproduce. Most cell phones capture at 8 bits which is far short of the quality required by cinematographers.

The tools we have today make great videos. From smartphones, to GoPros, and hybrid still-video mirrorless cameras. Unfortunately, if you're making shit quality videos, it's probably not the equipment.....it's your technique. Sorry.
