It's not difficult at all: Half of this country respects authority over law, even though they lie to themselves about being law and order. That's why they would break laws and threaten to kill people or stage insurrections to protect authority. There needs to be independent third-party accountability for the police, period, like there is accountability for everything else.

Great video. Thanks for sharing.

The cops I have know have been in favor of body cams - generally to prove innocence - theirs.
You get in a situation as cops do that end in violence - getting that on tape showing the encounter is good when it's he said vs she said.
In our society we have parents instilling fear of cops into their kids, instead of, having a respect of them - after all, if a kid is in trouble, having a kid that needs help (lost/ hurt - whatever) not being afraid of a cop to go for help is a good thing.
Society and the BLM movement is doing more harm to youth than people realize.

OP,
The video is pretty gruesome and I am glad it resulted in a criminal conviction.
Please understand that VICE is an operation setup and largely owned by BIll Maher the HBO comedian that has his own political and social bias. So I would not expect anything on VICE to necessarily be a balanced presentation.
You mentioned the attempt to cut something to six minutes. I remember the case involving the Fullerton Police and Kelly Thomas. A very short video was shown over and over again. One of the biggest critics of the police department was the Orange County Register that place the entire video on their website. The entire video was very long like 45 minutes or an hour. In addition to being a video of poor quality it was somewhat different than the narrative being played all over the media. I am not saying I agree with the Fullerton PD but you are right to be skeptical of edited videos you see on the internet.
As Remo stated the few police that I know are in favor of the bodycams because they believe in most cases it will prove their innocence.

There's this documentary.
A Canadian man as an independent project. Analyze the video of Walter Scott's Murder.
Then officer Micheal Slager shooting a running away Walter Scott. Frame 394 is where hands, body motion and devises, get confusing.

Cops are in favor of body cams when they can turn them off or have an organization that will bury them when they are murdering a citizen. Unless the body cams go in real time to a federal agency, most of those that show cops committing crimes never see the light of day. Most cops are bullies and/or failed athletes. They get their highly paid jobs through nepotism. They will lie through their teeth to justify a shooting and if they dare tell the truth are ostrasized. The vast majority are incredibly racist....and few i guess are good people.
