There's still too much information missing to declare either a natural origin or a lab-based origin for COVID-19. Both avenues still need to be fully investigated.
|
|
^ should the US investigate or let other countries like China investigate and then let us know?
|
|
President Biden already directed the US intelligence agencies to have a report on his desk in 90 days.
Considering that we are talking about investigating something in another country, and considering that country has totalitarian government, I expect very little cooperation from China.
Thus, we may never have a definite answer, making it fodder for all the conspiracy theories anyone can come up with, like the JFK assassination and Marilyn Monroe's death and who killed Tupak.

We need to erase anything Fauci has ever said and then put him under oath in a Senate trial. If anyone in the US knows anything its him.
He funded the research going on there in Wuhan.
It's highly suspicious he would just recently flip on the fact that NIH did fund gain of function research.

CCP said it will allow U.S. access to the lab if U.S. reciprocates. Why should U.S. give access ? No credible reasoning given. I can hear the Chinese apologists/nationalists storming in soon.
|

I'm sure CGEM will be in here soon to simp for the CCP saying how much better they are than the US.

nr is such a china apologist.. You are a commie nr, just sayin..

From ABC News..

LOL, it's seems to takes 6-18 months for a right wing conspiracy to turn into the fact...

Tupac died of Kung flu in Wuhan
Everybody knows that

British Professor Angus Dalgleish and Norwegian scientist Dr Birger Sørensen authored the new 22-page paper which is set to be published in the Quarterly Review of Biophysics Discovery, as per Daily Mail. The study reportedly claimed that the Chinese scientists also tried to cover their tracks by reverse-engineering the viruses to make it look like they naturally arose from bats.
Quoting the authors, Daily Mail said that the duo had “prima facie evidence of retro-engineering in China” for a year but was ignored by academics and major journals. The study also accuses Chinese labs of “deliberate destruction, concealment or contamination of data.”

Yeah, I read their paper. The two aspects of the virus that were suspicious, according to them, were the human-like codons in the receptor-binding domain (which makes it easier to bind to cells) and the four positively-charged amino acids that do the same thing by binding to negatively charged regions of the human cell. They claim it was very unlikely these came from nature. I'm not so sure.
Truth is we only know of a very small amount of the viruses that exist in nature, and, without direct evidence, there is absolutely no way you can conclude the virus was made in the lab without further investigation of the natural reservoirs from where this virus could have originated.

Not talking 'bout titties

maybe we never get the smoking gun or bloody knife
at what point do you add up the cover-ups, the missing scientists?
just let the story unfold without trying to defend china for god sake at every turn
from the beginning, I believed they were in on this with lots of help...I am good waiting on the results...it appears that the media can't hold it off any longer... the ELETION is over for them...time to make some money

Biden flip flops
|
|
Your right IOS, we'll never have a 'smoking gun' but there will be a preponderance of evidence that will show that it was an 'escape' from wuhan and that'll be traced back to fauci.
That's why he, fauci, was fighting against it being an escape so hard. The fact that he's responsible for financially supporting both the lab and it's research should be the end of his career and hopefully he'll either have to resign in disgrace or be fired.
I'm good with either scenario as long as he's gone.

Curious what the term lab leak actually means. How does a virus leak? Did a lab worker have it on him. Or did a worker catch the virus and spread it. ? Or did it get into the trash. ?
Thank you
|
|
@thedon60
In general, it is thought to have spread via a lab worker catching it and unknowingly spreading it. However, without an investigation this question can't be answered with certainty. At this point, China would have 'cleaned' up any evidence of a lab leak by now. One effective way would be to conduct blood tests of the Wuhan lab workers, which is never going to be allowed. Finding patient zero is immensely helpful in epidemiology. It won't happen in this case.
|
|
Biden demands an investigation. His demand lends credibility to the investigation.
In 90 days, the report will be inconclusive. Biden will then proclaim that we must move on and mover forward, and forget about this.
Wuhan labs will be forgotten, and the Chinese will be protected.
The end.
|
|
Patient zero probably committed suicide with a bullet in the back of his head, cremated, and buried in an indiscriminate site no one has ever heard of 1,000 miles away from the nearest city.
In other words, so much time has passed that no investigation will be successfully concluded. And the CCP gets away with committting another genocide.

'Wuhan labs will be forgotten, and the Chinese will be protected.'
Sounds about right.

An unidentified foreign agency reported that 3 lab workers from the Wuhan Institute checked into a local hospital in November 2019. Our spy guys are trying to confirm that this happened, the timing would be about right for a "leak" into the local gen-pop.
The Furin Cleavage is the other shoe that dropped re lab creation, it's NOT proof positive but it's mighty suspicious, along with the other items in my previous citation in this blog.
|
|
This article may be more clearly understood.
Scroll down to the header "Unique codons encoding arginines in the furin cleavage site"
Second paragraph, insertion of the furin cleavage site:
"This insertion could have occurred by random insertion mutation, recombination or by laboratory insertion. The researchers say the possibility of random insertion is too low to explain the origin of this motif."

This meme describes nr perfectly.

Wrong again. I don't even listen to mainstream media news reporting anymore.

“ CCP said it will allow U.S. access to the lab if U.S. reciprocates. Why should U.S. give access ? No credible reasoning given. I can hear the Chinese apologists/nationalists storming in soon.”
They achieve two goals by saying that, they want access to US labs to steal technology and they want to falsely blame the US military for the virus.
|
|
And the funny thing, you think that agreeing with most of the drivel you find on right-wing media sites without any critical thinking is being rebellious? More like it's being a sheep to right-wing media.
|
|
Sure seems most of the "drivel" you say, turns to be truth in 6-18 months...
|
|
"they want access to US labs to steal technology"
CCP already stole everything including the toilet seats, NR's lab badge and his excel password

Where did the virus originate?
dunno, but occam's razor seems to fit here
But I could be wrong.
|
|
The problem with tbe razor is that when two events each with a reasonable chance to be true, its not easy to determine which is the simplest. And in the final analysis, what difference does it make? In either case (lab accident or bat to human transmission). The Chinese acted irresponsibly. If the orang in chief had information thst it was done purposely, he had the obligation to act decisively. He did not. If Fauci was so evil why dnidnt the orang fire him? We had a useless pos for four years. We now have a leader.

A leader?
|
|
now we have a leader
that pretty much invalidates anything you type after that...too much orange man hate.
china acted irresponsibly????? how about on purpose? that not in your realm of possibilities?
why would china shut down domestic travel in china, BUT let int'l flights out of the area? just little shit like that
Reporters admit dismissing Wuhan lab leak theory in part because Republicans proposed it
'Some things may be true even if Donald Trump said them,' ABC's Jonathan Karl said
same shit over and over.
|
|
Iraq also had WMDs and they refuse to allow America to investigate.
Turns out America was right and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq were justify and worth it.
Just as Republicans predicted, the Iraq/Afghanistan ended after 2 years and Covid-19 went away summer of 2020 and was nothing more than the flu.
Just kidding.
