If it were up to me, I would ban reporters from sport events. They just ask dumb questions anyway.
But I understand that they are vital for the health of the sport. Media coverage is a necessity for the sport. People need should leave her alone. She took the penalty fine and said she would speak to reporters after the event. Reporters should have accepted that.
Athletes have an obligation to speak to media. It part of what they paid to do in their profession.

^^
Obligation to speak to the media.
Bingo!
There are few - if ANY professions that lack tough questions of one form or another.
Period.

Dear Naomi,
Ur always welcome to a second profession here on HX
if answering questions from useless sports journalists
is too mentally challenging for you
You wont even have to say anything at all...
Might be too expensive for your tastes, and you won’t like what she will do with your balls if you don’t satisfy her.
As long as she is ok with my wood Head racket
She has also a long history of depression. Mental health is a real thing. Often more difficult to deal with than a bad ankle for instance. Her position should be supported not vilified.
Sounds like most guys here want to support her position!
Not on the list of things I care about.
She should just said: “I’m here just so I don’t get fined.”
It was disgusting when they made her feel bad and cry when she beat Serena at the US Open
And the worst offender was the overly crazy entitled finals loser Serena
The lack of class shown by the 20 time champion for this young winner was eye watering
No class no empathy

Osaka has earned over $55 million over the past 12 months, some from playing tennis but mostly from endorsements, etc.
She can afford to hire the best psychologists, media consultants, etc. in the world. Has she said anything about what therapy or other help she's getting for her problems?

another "victim" of the cruel world.. pretty soon these socialworriors activist sport athletes gonna ask to play with no crowds and cheering spectators at all because they can hurt somebody feelings..
She's just pissed that she goes to Japan and identifies as Japanese, but they just think of her as a Kokujin.

This clip from Bedazzled
Every sports interview ever, it's only become more toxic today.
French Open's response to Naomi Osaka is a shameful moment for tennis.
"I've often felt that people have no regard for athletes [sic] mental health and this rings very true whenever I see a press conference or partake in one," Osaka wrote in a note she shared on Twitter. "I've watched many clips of athletes breaking down after a loss in a press room and I know you have as well. I believe the whole situation is kicking a person while they're down and I don't understand the reasoning behind it."

For those unfamiliar with Johnny Mac :

I support Naomi Osaka. I think it is great that people are more up front about revealing mental health issues. It does not make them weak. Also, look at famous people who seemingly self-destructed in front of the world over the last century. Many viewed it as entertainment, or tragedy, but they were clearly fighting inner demons without getting proper help.

She's uncomfortable answering questions
but publishing bikini pics on the other hand...
Come to HX Naomi!!!
(for those with the yellow fever, not really my thing)
If you can’t handle the heat get out of the kitchen!! She has made enough money to hire the best therapist money can buy , most of her fans probably struggle to get health insurance. Serena is the biggest hypocrite in the sport look at how she tested Osaka in her loss at the US Open!
