Any chemists in here can back this up?

If it’s true this sounds like a goldmine for investing.

From the article:

“ In a paper published in the journal Energy & Environmental Science, the researchers explain that the membrane’s crystal structure contains holes just wide enough to let lithium ions pass through while blocking larger metal ions. “

The current news article say that it “could” revolutionize lithium extraction.

I don’t know how it compares (from a cost perspective) to the current lithium extraction process.
I know that existing lithium extraction involves mining salt flats then processing the material.
