Speaking as an immigrant, it used to be that you or if your parents immigrated here, you were grateful and appreciative for the opportunities and freedoms in the U.S. Having lived in close to 10 countries, there is simply no comparison. I've taught my kids the same. Several friends and acquaintances I have now simply view the U.S. from a personal monetary gains point-of-view and their national loyalties remain with the countries from which they left or from which their parents came. They have passed this lack of loyalty on to their kids as well.
Much of this lack of loyalty is gone by the 3rd generation as future generations eventually assimilate, but with the whole blame the U.S. attitude being pushed by leftists, I'm not so sure anymore.

OP, at the very least I sincerely credit you for citing legitimate news source like BBC vs. the fringe conspiracy theory links that get thrown on these blogs by nutjobs. However, the article you cited about the protest in China has the following quotes:
1) "Such protests are rare in China where mass movements are controlled."
2) "The hashtag 'Nanjing...students injured by violent law enforcement was reportedly blocked on microblogging platform Weibo by Tuesday afternoon."
There is not even a shade of equivalence of freedom of speech and assembly vs. the U.S. The article you cited ironically confirms this point. So, if you were trying to show protests happen in China, some skull crackings swiftly follow.

What about the 5 - 10 million deaths under Stalin's 'population transfers'?
Did you forget about the Nazis and the 10 million dead in their camps, between the Jews, the Slavs, and everybody else they hated? That's not counting all the other soldiers and civilians they killed in battle.
And let's not forget the 1.5 - 2 million dead under Cambodian dictator Pol Pot.
The all-time winner for murder is Genghis Khan. He and his guys killed at least 30 million people, maybe up to 40 million, and laid waste to cities and infrastructure on a scale the world did not see again until the massive bombings of WWII.
Also, by the way, a lot of populations in the the countries you listed were doing an excellent job of killing each other off, long before the US showed up to take advantage of their chaos.
