Just a few days ago Wray blew the Democrat narrative related to the events of Jan 6th out of the water.
"FBI Director Christopher Wray punched a sizable hole in the Democrats’ narrative about the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol complex. He reminded Democrats that the event was nothing like the “horror” of 9/11. He taught them that the word “insurrection” has a precise legal meaning and that he can’t use the term in the same way that Democrats hug the word. He also noted that there were three groups at the Capitol that day, and not all of them were committing violent crimes."

The FBI infiltration of these far right groups is very troubling, especially if they participated in any way of egging them on. Since there is not going to be an investigation of the Jan. 6 events, the main way to get information may be through the Court proceedings of the 100's who are being charged. So far, lawyers for the rioters are not saying much, and perhaps the fact that plea deals may be the order of the day, we may never get to the bottom of it.

And McConnell is right that both the Justice Department and Congress are examining aspects of what happened on January 6.
The Justice Department has charged more than 400 individuals from 43 states for their observed actions on January 6. As CNN wrote late last month:
"Investigators quickly nabbed the 'low-hanging fruit' rioters who brazenly posted about their exploits online. Some of the rioters even turned themselves in. But investigators also went through the painstaking process of examining tens of thousands of hours of video to identify the pro-Trump rioters allegedly responsible for the most vicious attacks against police officers.

Many of the rioters are facing 20 years or more, so these are not petty misdemeanors. Most likely will plea bargain down when trial gets near. But others are correct, no one is charged with insurrection, sedition etc.
