you guys-the people on this site that wanted trump out at all costs....loving the power of the media to help make it happen...such as all those hit pieces, story squashes, censoring/fact checks...followed up with an OOPS we overreached or shouldn't have done that

Sad to say but gone I think are the days of people like Johnny Carson.
You could not tell what side of the political spectrum he fell on, he was funny and roasted both sides - FAIRLY.
I at one point was a big fan of Letterman, but he got too one sided, and really lost me when he was asked what the outcome on Afghanistan should be and he, in his "nuanced" essence said he did NOT want America to triumph - basically saying (to me) that he wished more American soldiers would die.
(about 15 or so years ago in an exchange w/ Bill Oreily on Letterman's show)

This is a big problem these days, this idea that people can be labeled left/right or liberal/conservative. Most people have a whole range of thoughts, opinions, views that are across the spectrum.
The idea that everyone chooses only A or B, left or right and then takes all the ideas from A or B is wrong. But it appeals to certain smaller-brained folk as in their case they WANT someone to tell them what to think, to be part of a group of drones.
Truth is this black/white us/them thinking is a sign of low intelligence. It's also a key symptom in many
major personality disorders.
So yeah I like Maher. Don't always agree with him. Sometimes he makes me think or see from a different angle. All good.
But he hasn't suddenly flipped sides or come to agree with you on everything because you see something alike... or whatever the fuck the simple folk are calling it.
