Any restaurant that uses a woodfired pizza oven.
You know what you mean when you see and taste the pizza.
The crust is unevenly baked and burnt.
The taste is amazing.

Ahhhhhh, a topic near and dear to my heart:
NY Pizza: Terra Mia, in Laguna Hills. Awesome, about as close as you can get to NYC without having to put up with crime, filth, and socialism.
Chicago Pizza: Rance's Chicago Pizzeria in Costa Mesa. Awesome. Just awesome!
Italian restaurant pizza: Little Toni's in North Hollywood. A thin crispy crust with top quality cheese and tasty sauce. But the pepperoni is the key here...the little round pepperonis that curl up with they cook, get crispy around the edges, and collect that little pool of hot oil in the center...I stop in whenever I am anywhere in the Valley...drag it home to the OC and eat if for days after!!!
Take out/delivery pizza: Ameci. They're all over the Valley, and surrounding areas, plus a few in the OC in Irvine, Fountain Valley, and El Toro/Lake Forest.

+1000- Yellow- Petrillos in San Gabriel and Glendora is my favorite pizza of all time, I grew up eating it and still do.
The Specialty Pizza is amazing if you like a lot of toppings. Onion, Bellpepper, mushroom, pepperoni, salami, italian sausage and garlic. It's expensive, but completely worth it.
Family size is 24 slices, 15 x 20, I can only eat 3 or 4 pieces max!

Ray's Pizza (Not the NYC namesake) but great NY style chewy crispy crust, across from UCI. Also Al's New York Cafe in Costa Mesa, great NY style thin crust.
