Here's another great Morgan Freeman moment on the topic of Black History Month...
When “60 Minutes” host Mike Wallace opposed the actor’s views and asked how racism can end without the dedicated month, Freeman responded with a simple answer.
“Stop talking about it,” he said. “I’m going to stop calling you a white man, and I’m going to ask you to stop calling me a black man.”
But for some reason we are inundated with the topic of race more than ever before.

Pre-Obama, various surveys showed race relations were rated high by most groups.
Woke-ists will likely say that's because everybody was ignorant of how bad it was.
Post-Obama and Post-Trump, surveys now show people are rating relations at a low.
Woke-ists love that because, for them, it's all about power.
They couldn't care less if all the colors get along
They say they do
But, the truth is, they don't
The new-to-be mayor of NYC will hopefully be the first big city mayor to kick some ass on the woke-ists, then maybe other cities will see that example and follow.
But, I wouldn't hold my breath, again.........it's all about power
They couldn't give a fuck that hundreds of young blacks are killed every year.........
Oops, I meant every month

half of my political donations were to black or brown candidates that had a plan and some energy to make a difference...bumming a few of em lost, but the DEM population was way too high for the change...their loss...keep getting the same shit over and over VS some hope to improve things

cause & effect break it all down to financial inept and the fear of , financial inept.
HIstory of Human "Civilization"
the woke movement is about police brutality directed at non anglo individuals, & given an instant stygma
based on statistics of non anglo individuals being detained/arrested more than anglo individuals
created by those detaining/arresting non anglo individuals
now, there is the part about attitude & so on while "dealing" with a public servant of the law
mixed with that part about maintaining professionalism regardless of the customers attitude
at the end of the day
still boils down to financial inept and the gate keepers of that, most of which only have a few houses
& some land here in the good ole USofA
that hole thing about, "as they watch from their houses of the holy"//.......
give a man a fish, he will eat today, and be back for more tomorrow

If there is no systemic racism, why do Black workers earn, on average, only 60% of what white people earn? Why is the net worth of Black households only about a third of white households? Why are there only 5 Black CEOs leading Fortune 500 companies?
I could go on with racial disparities in our society, but would be interested in your explanation for these facts.

Dude why you picking on whitey?...
The US is a very diverse multi-ethnic country of people that contribute to the greater good of a prosperous nation.
If you look at the list white people are not at the top.
But one thing I do is offer my OPINION in regards to cultural differences between the top and bottom of the list...
Its rooted in family values and education. Some cultures expect and demand shit of thier offspring and others dont.
And theres no amount of 'equity' programs that will make up the gap that can be sustainable and tolerated by the taxpayers.

no wonder people want to come here
just come in legally and pay the appropriate taxes...don't contribute to the rise in crime and don't explode bombs

I am not going into criticism on the racial situations in the US, but I will talk about Western Philosophy;
Emmanuel Levinas is a Lithuanian born French philosopher and he criticized the preeminence of Ontology in the history of Western Philosophy. He was born in 1923 and studied under Edmund Husserl and Heidegger (both of them are German philosophers). He began his studies in philosophy at the University of Strasbourg.
On the outbreak of WWII, he was captured by German troops, and spent the next five years in a prisoner of war camp, because he was a Jew. He survived the war with the help of French writers.
After WWII, he taught philosophy at University of Paris X.
According to Levinas, Ontology by its very nature attempts to create a totality in which what is different and "other" is necessarily reduced to sameness and identity. The desire for totality, according to Levinas, is a basic manifestation of "instrumental" reason, the use of reason to achieve a given end; what he meant was that Western philosophy displays a destructive and objectifying "will to domination"
Heidegger's ontology is a "fundamental ontology" and was misguided because it reflects "the dominating and destructive orientation characteristics of Western philosophy.
Levinas holds the primacy of ethic over ontology is justified by the "face of the Other". "The alterity" or "Otherness" of the "Other" as signified by the "face" is something that one acknowledges before using reason to form judgements or beliefs about him. Insofar as the moral debt one owes to "the Other" can NEVER be satisfied. Levinas claims that the "the Other" is infinitely transcendent, infinitely foreign"-one's relation to him is that of INFINITY.
In contrast, Ontology treats "the Other" as an object of judgement made by theoretical reason, because its relationship to "the Other" is one of totality.
In summary, Levinas established his philosophy based on Ethics due to his criticism on Ontology.

Rabbit's income figures (if this is a real statistics ) only explains that most of immigrants or workers with working VISAs or with Green Cards makes a good incomes because they have a higher education and they are "the selected people" because of their knowledge and skills, that is why they were sent to overseas (meaning USA) to work to begin with.

@harpooner
see, the government keeps borrowing money from countries. then has to pay them back by giving special privileges. like going to a university for free. etc.

In search of starfishies
yup, just look at beverly hills and bel aire
this is their playground
you can thank mr Harry Anslinger & the global utopian plan. which was used to get any and all countries to "invest" in america... but, we have to pay them all back... quite a plan huh
it was due to the Hearst Dupont Hoover & other elite wealthy families, that were scared of losing
their government wealth & contracts coming when WW2 ended
that is the root of the national debt, which is also why companies cannot afford to pay a descent
labor wage
like Truman said,, each administration just keeps passing the buck
& the elite foreigners come here to play
but not everybody is a bad person. it is what it is, I guess, I would probably choose to enjoy myself as well

Rahcrener
yea, and please explain in detail,, that,, selection process...
elite families with connections & money

"only" that is part of the problem....looking for the negative spin on things
sometimes the one coming into america to strike gold gets it done...sometimes it takes a few generations. one thing you have heard a lot thru your life, probably from others -- parents hope/provide/sacrifice for their offspring to do better AND have MORE opportunity than they had
it takes fucking work from the parents. i see what my wife does. my family didn't even know what grade i was in half the time...there is a lot of that and you need friends and mentors to fill in the gaps and guide you --- for the individual, takes some work to make it out of any situation...lil luck also as there are many pitfalls.
i believe in that census from 2019...blacks closed the wealth gap and pay gap

There doesn't seem to be systemic racism against Asian Americans. They are so successful
that that liberals don't want to consider them a minority. They are usually ignored or just
lumped with whites when groups are analyzed.
I believe there are more Black billionaires than there Asian American billionaires.
In fact, I don't think there are any Asian American billionaires. I bet most of the
people on HX would be hard pressed to name a few Asian American millionaires
but they can rattle off the names of Black millionaires and a few billionaires.
After all, there is no diversity in entertainment and professional sports.

Damn, it is a bitch when data and fact fuck up narratives pushed by people.
All of those ethnic groups have been oppressed and kept down by our white society.
As was mentioned...it is a function of education and expectations.
The Democratic run large cities have the worst educational systems....duh....

All I know is that Mexicans are pissed that when they chant "Puto" at a soccer game they get thrown out, and lose their money and their buzz.
I suspect Mexico will be playing games in an empty stadium for at least the immediate future...Mexican soccer fans are stubborn as hell!!!

I'm actualizing Levinas' theory by posting wisdom for consumption by "Others".
Fucking French philosophers, lol
Here it is in a nutshell
"Don't worry, be happy."
Bitch

Rawdawger
The top 7 in the median income figures and 8 of the 12 are Asian.
This fits with the most recent US Census figures
And, it says nothing about the Census only counting H Visa classification for these ethnic groups
The Asians I talk to are fucking pissed off about the whole college debacle.
Fucking Harvard being racist against Asians, lol
Woke fucking Progs are just insane
And should be put down like the rabid dogs they are

BarbieonDemanD
yea its hard to find people that aren't caught up in contention about everything
not to say anyone here is in contention...
usually more good relations with more people equals good things

To compensate for what I have said above, George Bush's painting anthology, "Out of Many, One: Portraits of America's Immigrants", is his resistance to Trump admin's anti immigration and White Supremacy racist policies, and probably to show his regret for his failed foreign policies in the past.
Whether or nor he has a talent for a painter does not matter here, his act of resistance is what it is worthwhile.
|
|
seemed like he learned this painting after his RULE...i think they are great
you really have to take what any of these fuckers say and do with some eyes open(a little cynicism)
trump trashed his brother's run...trump trashed bush himself. no love there ever for the bushes...bush loves being on the cool kds team...helps his so-called all-time presidential ratings. RINO's and trump don't mix well
