Can I come?
|

Depends on how long you're looking to get away for.
If you've got the time - Manzanillo Bay in Mexico is a great place to hang out for a week or 2.

3 days? Can't even get to northern Cal in that time.
Carpenteria is nice place to spend a couple of days. Just down the road from Santa Barbara and an easy drive once you get past Thousand Oaks.

Cabo is a good 3 day outing.
|
|
what do you mean?? it's like 14 hours to Eugene.
You can drive to Kentucky in 3 days, I've done it... a lot.
3 days for my stay.. doesn't have to be far just something nice.

Second vote on Cabo.
|

Third on Cabo, short flight, just a bit hot with Covid

My vote is a Beach House rental in Carpinteria...
|
|
Palm Springs is close and easy!
|

I will let you ride one of my horses π΄
I will go back the end of July , just stoping by here now ...
Happy birthday πππ

Palm Springs. If you don't mind the heat. But being poolside with friends, the heat won't matter.

Miami!

What I mean is if you go someplace that's a 6-8 hour drive or if you have to fly then a lot of your time is going to go to getting there. Instead you can head to someplace like Carp which is relatively close - about 1 1/2 drive, get there fast and start relaxing, partying etc.
Essentially not wasting time getting to the destination but getting there quickly and enjoying it instead.

Just dont go to any resorts in the U.S.
Service sucks due to lack of staffing. Airlines are packed and cancelling flights due to lack of employees- even though they were bailed out with millions...WTF???
|

I'm another vote for Carpinteria. Right now though the inventory rentals might be booked for a last minute trip. The best place is a nice house on Padaro Lane. If not Carp then try you luck on the central coast. Avila Beacham be fun close enough to take day trips to hit hit the wineries in Paso and stroll Moro

I have always wanted to go to Palm Springs, I hear there is a tiki scene and neat vintage shops out there. I've only ever been around the holidays for robolights.
That San Diego adult pool sounds amazing. Plus I love SD!
We started talking about some place near Yosemite, with hot springs, darn now I can remember the name.
sorry.. can't remember your handle right now, but 3 days of vacation not including travel. :0)
Flappy... Eugene and KY are 2 of my favorite places. :0)
|
|
Be warned, Yosemite is a long-ass drive. You'll spend a whole day each way, and flying is not much better.

Cayucas.
It is about 4.5-5 hrs away. Beach front.
Really mellow and laid back little place to sit on the beach, not have a crowd overwhelm you and there is super good fish tacos just a 5 min walk off the beach.
The accommodations are comfortable and I guarantee you'll want to move there after a couple of days of chilling out there.

Ojai Valley Inn
Lodge at Torrey Pines.

16th- I have been to Yosemite plenty of times. It's beautiful.
why is everyone bumming on the travel part or traveling. It usually way more fun the way there versus the way back... but I love traveling. Unless it's by boat.
I'm into all this beach talk!!!! Sun's out Buns out!

Face down ass up.

If you go out to the desert stay at JW Marriott. Itβs every nice and adult. They have everything you need onsite.

Pass Robles. Great Wine country if you like wine.
Can rent and Airbnb with a pool at a great cost.
Other than that Vegas is still fun but hot!
|
|
Agree w ladodgerfan
Paso Robles great value and some very affordable Airbnb options
People are down to earth plus only 30 minutes to drive to the coast (Cayucos) if you want.
|
|
I was just in Los Olivos, so beautiful! And I met so many dogs... so many!!!!
Great suggestions

We've staycationed here

I do the Eugene drive pretty often. Route varies depending on the time I want to spend driving.
Only driven to Kentucky once but loved it. Ever do the Natchez Trace Parkway along the way?
|
|
I'm in Cancun now and it's pretty nice

3-day getaway?
My choice--
3-day weekend cruise to Ensenada.
Get on board Friday afternoon,
Saturday in Ensenada,
Sunday at sea,
Back by 9am in San Pedro.
Lots of fun, lots of food, lots of drink.
|
|
1) Ensenada 3 day cruise Ensanada.... basically it's a drunken orgy.... but because of Covid possibly less crowded
San Diego Casino's for the pools ....Viejas and Harrahs are great and they are about 30 minutes to Temecula for wine tasting... best time is during the week on the weekends it is a zoo
