Lol if you don’t have enough common sense to distinguish music from reality then that’s sad. Rap has bad lyrics but there are so many rappers that actually don’t curse and have amazing music like chance they rapper, Saba, and more. That’s like saying movies have effects on you too when it’s all pure entertainment.
I listen to rock and… well let’s just say have you heard “down with the sickness” the part where he’s talking about killing his mother? Lol

The end of the day music shouldn’t make you who you are. One of my fave songs is Mona Lisa by Kendrick Lamar and lil Wayne. The story telling is amazing but I have never and won’t ever steal from anyone. Just because I love that song don’t doesn’t mean I’m a thief. it’s just music
Also I’ve seen worst things written about women in the clubs 😂😂 y’all don’t care about respecting women and how their being degraded because I’ve seen how y’all treat them behind closed doors and on other sites

Not sure if that's true JM. Art goes hand in hand on how a society progresses. If you look down through history the art of an era shows how that society rose and fell and in many cases predicted it.
Art, in a lot of cases, isn't just a reflection of society but instead shapes it's ethics, morals and principals.

I am an audio engineer and trust me I remembered learned about how music effects people so much
Things from playing fast music and altering the temperatures in restaurants to get people to eat faster or slower
Music is absolutely Influential to those that don’t understand it’s just pure entertainment. I definitely don’t disagree but maybe I’m just different because I understand that music is just music . Like I’ve never listened to a song and allowed that to model my life

I can 1000% agree with that. My Pandora Starion is 90% on “James Blake Radio” unless I’m driving (then I may or may not throw on some lil boosie haha). Hell my favorite song is unchained Melody by the righteous brothers 😂 most mainstream rap is garbage unless you’re looking for a good beat to dance to but it’s definitely not a genre I go to for “influence”
PS: jcole has a REALLY good new album out . Haven’t heard it but the few songs I caught on Pandora were nice

I remember meeting 50 cent when his song “in the club” was a hit! It’s About popping bottles of liquor and a lot of other things BUT what’s funny is the man doesn’t drink. He told me that he Rarely does because he says he doesn’t like his perception of reality altered. Also said he’s never used a substance in his life.. funny stuff because I expected him to be a whole gangster but he’s actually ether opposite. Very well spoken, super humble and laid back.
I mean he has to be if he doesn’t even drink but has his own champagne company . And he doesn’t even drink it lol says he switches it out for ginger ale 😂 freaking brilliant
