It couldn't POSSIBLY have anything to do with the billions...possibly TRILLIONS of dollars in arms and equipment sales and defense contracts that 20 years of war generates.
Once again...America arms and trains a middle eastern country that in the end turns out to be our enemy. GEE....who could have EVER seen that coming?
One would think there would be a lesson to be learned there.

That's what generals do - go to war and that's ALWAYS their first response.

Initially as a response to 9/11.
Then it was to eliminate future threats and the it was to stabilize the region.
What was unspoken is Kabul and the Afghan bases gave great locations to spy and conduct spy missions into China, Russia and other local threats near the ’Middle East.
We gave up that staging and recovery area.
Now instead of well trained and capable armed forces who are able to hold their own in the region, we are going to get unprepared innocents to suffer for Biden’s arrogance.

At first, I thought Biden is a complete idiot. But now I think that he did the right thing. We've spent a trillion dollars over in those sand pits for nothing. Vietnam was a no-win war and Afghanistan is no different.

Pak - I'm really not sure how you think we are all Anti-War. A large portion of our economy relies on us being arms suppliers. Not only to ourselves, but to other countries. Israel is one of our best customers at 4 trillion a year. ?? the people who are truly Anti-War are the people sent off to die and people who don't want death in general.
I have always disagreed with the concept of WWII being a necessary war. The US didn't get involved till the Germans started interfering in US special interests, as usual. Pearl Harbor was just the excuse we needed to get involved. Hell, there were even Nazi sympathizers in the US government.
it was unjust going into Afghanistan to hunt a faction of radicals and make invade a country for a few thousand of them. A lot of us in the Anti-War movement that invading would make more radicals, which it did. We were killing innocents.

The biggest reason it's strategic locality - just east of Iran, a nuclear power even it no one wants to admit it, and China.
BUT, even Alexander the Great realized that Afghanistan was a no win scenario when he pulled out.
So someone 3,000 years ago knew more then any of the generals in the 20th & 21st century.).gif)
