Holy shit... this is the worst thing possible at the worst possible time. Lets get something straight right off the start. Going into Afghanistan was NOT our response to 9/1/01. Going into iraq was the idea of the neo-con Republicans. The reason for going into Afghanistan was the government of Afghanistan allowed al Qaeda to base their operations in their country.
Dont put it past Republicans loyal to trump to sabotage the pull out of Afghanistan. Its not just politicians. The trump loyalists in the military, and in all levels of government. This current cluster fuck looks waaay too stupid. Way too cruel to the Afghans that helped us. EVERYONE knows the inevitable comparison to the fall of Saigon. We cant allow this stupidity to breed blow back. This almost guarantees another 911. Why can't we learn.?
Biden pulled all of the air support out of the country. With air support and drones, we could have kept the Taliban at bay for weeks or even months to allow an orderly departure from country.
Trump had lowered the number of troops, but left a very strong air support in place, but Joe took the air support away.
Everything this guy says makes a lot of sense as to why Afghanistan was a no win situation and why we should NEVER have gone in the first place, other then to knowck out al queda.
How about we start minding our own business and taking care of the problems we have here instead of trying to solve made up one in other countries.
God knows we have enough of our own.
If anyone is interested in what Biden said.. he said we regained control of the air tower at the airport. On one interested in the lives of human beings would ever clear a C-17 military transport to take off while civilians are on the tarmac. This was an agreement between trump and the fucking Taliban. Who knows who to trust. ? Any "deal" trump made as president will show how much he cares about people.
But what Trump said....if the Taliban do not keep their end of the agreement, we will go right back in with heavy duty force, including drones and air support to inflict maximum damage to the Taliban.
It was going to be a withdrawal observing the actions of the Taliban and any of their support of terrorists.
If you are going to back out on a deal, you better be ready to back up your action with air support, support your ally and be ready to fight.
He broke a deal when he move the date. Who care right? Well, the taliban use that to get support from all of the tribes. the taliban won the propaganda war. And we gave it to them.
This was always the way it was going to end - the afghan army switching side to the taliban. It's in the afghan culture - if your sides losing switch to the other side.
Michael Yon, the war correspondent who Alison's interviewing, explains it pretty well all though his thoughts are really disorganized.
China isn't winning shit.
The US military is still designed to take on other super powers. Which is the problem, and why they have so much trouble with guerrilla and insurgency warfare.
"Radio silence from liberal news" I've been surfing all the news outlets all day in the background while I work. The "liberal news" is eating his lunch....it's a fucking feeding frenzy on Biden. Angry fucking feminists already screaming "who's gonna save the women and children!! They are being raped and murdered and forced into sexual slavery!!"
The liberals are screaming to high heaven about "the humanitarian crisis" and "save the refugees"
I'm glad the liberal media is up in arms and reporting news. Good for them.
Pulling the bulk of the troops out was the right objective we all agree on. But it appears Biden overruled advice from his military advisors to leave a security force and have a draw down gated with objectives.
Sounds like he ignored advice and just wanted 'everyone' gone by a certain date.
The US brokered a deal with the Taliban to allow the US to use the airbase to evacuate military personnel and other Americans. Too bad we did not include civilian refugees who were holding onto the planes.
For better or worse Afghanistan is not the same country it was when the US first invaded. It remains to be seen if this will moderate the Taliban rule. So far I believe Kabul was taken without a single death. Women were not stoned on the street etc. It remains to be seen what kind of Afghanistan emerges. It is now ripe for Chinese influence.
2011 Obama Biden pulls troops from Iraq, ISIS is born. GET THE PICTURE YET? Libya , Crimea, Egypt You dont need Fox, CNN, Info wars. Its all in your face, just look at it for crissake!
Biden lost a US embassy over the weekend and Obama did the same on Sept 11th 2012 with Benghazi.
That mean tweeter Trump... what did he do when Solimani attacked the Iraqi embassy?... he turned him into crab salad and the Democrats went ape shit like he had no right... that's the fucking difference bro.
According to the state dept on sunday there was "a few thousand Americans " still in Afghanistan. Good luck joe.
A hasty pullout is an understatement
