kinda fits in with his warning to JOE at their meeting that the USA has no place in the middle east future
the same meeting where JOE gave him the list of industries NOT to hack....the red lines. what were the ones that were ok?

I wonder if they compared notes on kidnapping and killing journalists.

Where have you guys been for the past 7 years? This isn't ground breaking news; ties have building up since 2003. Military ties since Syria.

We have never had political or cultural synergy with Saudi. They are much less aligned with US values than even the Persians. Now oil is a less critical commodity (and they have less to spend on weapons) it makes sense to start to withdraw from our compromised position there.

I remember a Boeing VP saying once, as an englishmen was trying to sell C-17's to Saudi. " They hate anyone named Nigel."

My friends in the kingdom told me last year that if DJT won re-election Saudi would have signed the agreement with Israel and that would have lead to something resembling peace in the ME. Now all hell will break loose - but at least we don't have those mean tweets

Sounds strange to me. Is Russia gonna help the Saudis fight off Iran?
Hard to imagine.

Iran and Saudis have been discussing peace talks as well

@Chuck
Iran and Russia also aren't friends. Having Saudi Arabia as a "friend" is good business; they're always in the market for weapons and they have common interests in the oil business as you know.
I don't see us freaking out over this anytime soon since we've seen Russia uptick cooperation with the Saudis for the past couple decades; that's a lot of different presidencies and intelligence heads giving feedback on the situation. If we're not flinching now its because we haven't seen a change in anything.
For the Saudis have more friends encircling Iran makes the Iranians uncomfortable. Having US warships lurking off on side of their coast and potentially Russians lurking off their other coast means more trouble for them.
That's just my arm chair general opinion though. I won't get hired by any intelligence agency anytime soon
