I was thinking biden had to play Taliban ball once he went down HIS patch of getting out of Afghanistan the way he did, but once they attacked and killed people like this, the gloves should be off

Word on the international media is that isis will not wait for Taliban permission to strike again and people at the airport (and the soldiers defending them) are sitting ducks. NOW would be the time for Biden to stay “fuck this shit” and bring back the full might.

They should have held on to Bagram as well. Them they could have been EVACing from 2 points instead of 1.... which would also have divided the Taliban's attention and resources.

90% chance that the last few transports will leave under fire.
70% chance that enemy forces will take down at LEAST 1
80% chance that there WILL be a firefight between coalition forces and either the taliban or isis.
99% chance there will be more casualties

We should NOT have to pull out of Afghanistan - now or EVER.
It will cost us more in lives and money when we have to back in.

Hostilities in WWII was ended about 75 years ago. That's in generational terms about 3-4 GENERATIONS ago.

We need to send the troops back and go door to door and kill anyone with American hardware, retake Bagram and keep it. While going door to door get the SIV and US folks out to secure locations, and move them out ASAP.
Any hardware left needs to be destroyed.
The Presidential Palace should receive a Moab
B52's and all other aircraft should be strafing any Taliban gathering place.
Bottom line is we need to be back there getting our civilians and others out and basically bulldozing the crap out of the nation.
They can rebuild over the next 20 years and anytime something creeps up that we worry about send a drone to neutralize it.

It does not belong to us, but it has created the some of the most daring and vile who have come out and actually been able to hurt the US. Not since Japan in the 1940s.
While I did not agree with staying there long, I have come to understand that is being there would help stop the breeding of monsters and madmen, and we could make that part of the world better if we invested in the long game to allow the Afghan’s time to raise capable leaders. It was not going to happen in one generation, and probably not in two, but the alternative is what we are getting: weak leaders who have to deal with extremist hillbillies, and radical small factions that can nOw run unchecked in the region.

in this case...there was almost a direct line to this event happening...they left Bagram, afghans surrendered (like the admin had zero ideas that would happen?)....taliban opened the jail cells of their enemy?? a few weeks later those same prisoners killed 100 people...including our troops

YES we know it was a bad war. WE know getting out was going to be hard with big problems. the mistakes made ARE the problem...on many fronts
besides people dying and people were probably going to die...OUR new found respected standing in the world / with allies is shit
IF we need to go back into afghan...we probably will not have allies pitch in as they did before...especially if their own people are out
