So a few weeks ago the FBI already concluded there was no coordination in the events of Jan 6.
There was no insurrection and nobody has been charges as such.
Going into phone records for further 'investigation' after the FBI reached it's conclusion is the left continuing to kick the can down the road. It's the new Russia Hoax.

I mean how is it possible that the person responsible for Capitol security can have a breach after denying multiple requests to beef up security then be in charge of the investigation into causes and then withhold 14,000 hours of video evidence....?

Think about what is happening. McCarthy is attempting to prevent phone records from being discovered. The Oath Keepers’ founder is cooperating with prosecutors. Imagine if the phone records tie them with members of Congress.

But you should know that Bill Barr killed the Mueller Report and the Russia investigation. Democrats are begging the AG to grow some balls and go after Barr. The DOJ was an incredibly respected institution where the country’s top lawyers would would take severe pay cuts to start their careers and work there. Bill Barr has severely diminished the DOJ’s reputation. I think Garland wants to put it all behind us, but all of the dirt needs to be brought to the surface. I bet Federal judges won’t allow the information to be buried. See the linked article. Republicans have a lot to fear on a number of fronts.
Remember, I told you that I thought Trump will be tried for treason and that he may flee to Russia to avoid prosecution? Although it sounds crazy, it may actually happen.

The problem with prosecuting Trump is that everyone knows there are a bunch of militant lunatics who support him that will go nuts. He’s obviously guilty of fomenting the insurrection. I don’t think anyone with two brain cells doesn’t know that. What’s more important is knowing who else in Congress is also guilty of the same offense.
You know all of this is part of a bigger Republican problem. Republicans are outnumbered by Democrats. The only way they can win elections is by gerrymandering and by passing restrictive voting laws. They are going down kicking and screaming, but unless they appeal to more voters, they are fucked. So the next few years is going to be a struggle between Republicans cheating until they can’t cheat anymore.
Back to Trump: he must be prosecuted and he should get the stiffest penalty (I’m sure you know what that is). Otherwise, future Presidents will attempt to be just as lawless as him, and democracy may not survive another Trump (especially someone who’s smarter than him). If Trump were not such an idiot, he would still be President.

Crazy shit can happen when they hack our computers, including shutting down and potentially destroying our infrastructure (such as the electrical grid for sizable chunks our country). They claim WW3 will be all cyber.
So to justify severe countermeasures, they’re going to need justification and public support. I just can’t imagine them letting the Russia thing go. They can’t let Bill Barr go unpunished or another AG will be the President’s lapdog in the future. Just look what happened to the “stop the steal” lawyers in Michigan. They’re all being punished now (as they should be, and foretelling Barr’s future punishment). Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, and Lin Wood will lose everything (including their licenses).
