At this point, Republicans who still are confident with their standing are the self-conceited and self-deceiving arrogant Trumpturds that we see here in HX.
Republicans are busy weaponizing state legislatures and supreme court decisions in order to control US politics as minority-majority, and to suppress US democracy and to ignore what the majority of citizens want from politicians. Let's just look at what Texas legislature have achieved.
Their lip service to Evangelicals by placing practical bans on abortion by ignoring Roe VS Wade, and to NRA by giving Texans to carry guns in public without any license. For abortion, it adopted "vigilante system", under which private citizens are empowered to police the ban, and each person is rewarded $10,000 for it. The most barbaric way to control and reward the ban.
For carrying guns without license, they forced the legislature against the will of police department there, and the will of most of the residents in Texas. Also they restricted voting bills by banning drive-through and 24 hour voting, and the worst of all, it will give partisan poll watchers more leeway to influence vote counting.
In other words, Republicans' plutocratic democracy/eradication of politics is progressing towards the worst outcome.

R v W, being a SCOTUS ruling back in 1973 is NOT a law, and as such, could be changed by another ruling of SCOTUS.
If Congress would man up and pass a law, that was then signed by a Pres, then SCOTUS wouldn't need to make these rulings. Personally, I'm in favor of the existing trimester system, but not in favor of 9 appointed people making the decision because the other 536 duly elected POS can't take a stand. If these stupid bitches could pass the ACA garbage, they should be able to make this a fucking law.
