I lived in Florida for 6 years and they would get lightning storms, it was awesome especially at night.
Nice to have some verity around here.

In Pomona it was thunder and lightning for quite a while late last night, It's nice to fall asleep to..it cooled everything down a bit & yeah it's beautiful this morning !

It would be nice, if when awoken by thunder and lightning, to reach over and have someone to hug, cuddle, and kiss with...
Sleeping alone sucks. I guess I could go get a golden retriever, I hear they are an affectionate breed of dog.

What's weird about it? It's common at this time of year to have thunderstorms. It's the monsoon season.

We always get funky weather from mid-August thru September from "monsoonal moisture" that comes up and over Arizona and the desert.
We might get some more of that funk in a week or so if the remnants of the hurricane that's currently near Cabo moves inland and ends up over our deserts.

Inland thunderstorms totally normal this time of year.
There's a tropical storm right off Cabo throwing moist tropical air up to CA/AZ
The only thing remotely weird is having thunderstorm activity in the OC beach areas. This is due to the Low that moved over San Diego last night creating offshore flow in LA/OC.
But let's try to blame climate change...

I thought it was cool. I kinda miss summer thunderstorms but then I don't miss shoveling a bazillion tons of snow to get my freakin' car out. during winter.
