I dont know if its still there but there was one in Palm Springs.
in 2010 I did a photo shoot and a "documentary" for a mens magazine.
It was very interesting and a chill place.
Luckily i was not required to go nude as i would have had a huge chubby.
the host was a young lady, I photographed her in various settings and interviewed her about the lifestyle. And she was a hottie..

I belonged to a family friendly park out near Devore for a few years.
As Coach M said, no judgement whatsoever...everyone was kind courteous and respectful
I would still be a member if it was not such a long drive.

I went to sea mountain in Palm Springs with a friend on here and LOVED IT
Had way too much fun and would definitely do it again

Is there a nudist place that screens for reasonable standards of attractiveness?

^^^ that would be more like Sea Mountain in Nevada. Or Caliente in Florida. (Swingers/Vouyer type)
Family parks are completely different that the above two mentioned. No sexual stuff ever goes on. It's a sacred safe place to be free. Your even finger printed before coming in, making sure your intentions are aligned with the environment.
I don't really go to places that judge w looks, it defeats the purpose in wanting to be in union with all. In fact my next travels will be at Lake Como owned by mostly grandmas that look like grandmas, 🥰 perfect.
Many women here would prefer a chill environment where we can have the sun hit where it usually doesn't. Sleep and play in the water all day as everyone gives u your space, yet is still friendly.

Naturism and nudism in Europe is very different. You see all ages and body types. Hell, just go to any big park in Berlin on a sunny weekend day.

I remember there was one in Chatsworth, just off the 118 fwy on Topanga Canyon, across the street from the Stoney point park, before Devonshire. I have not been that way in years, it may still be there

I fully agree with Flapsack. I was stationed in Europe for about 18 months and my girlfriend took me to a lake in Germany. Not thinking much about nudity and all. We get there and she leads me across a small wooden fence that kind of divided the beaches. Well on the other side was nudity. She had me strip naked and she did too. Now I will admit my 21 year old self was kind of nervous. After stripping I went quickly into the water. My girlfriend wanted me to wait but for various reasons I could not. The cold lake water helped until my girlfriend swam next to me and realized why I went into the water quickly. She teased me a bit in the water. After a few minutes she left me alone and I was able to get out of the water.

I mean if there is no judgement, they should allow for you to walk around with a hard on until you get used to the whole situation and it becomes more "normal" for you. To pretend that newbies don't get hard when seeing other naked people around is ridiculous. We almost only ever see other naked bodies in sexual situations...before sex, at strip clubs primarily... so it is a natural reaction!
I went to a hot spring behind the San Bernardino mtns. It was a little well with like 3 different pools and it was secluded AF, we had to ride horses out to it. You have to know where you are going to find it.
Once there, we were the first ones there and me and my female friend got in. She went topless I went full on. Right away I got hard seeing her tits, the water was warm and didn't do anything to make me forget. Then more people showed up, older women mostly and stripped down into another pool. By the time we went to the other pool, I still had a stiff. I walked around with it at at least half staff for like 2 hrs and the other ladies saw it plenty of times. THey never fretted, they seemed to be ok with it but I think in large part it was becuse I was with a girl...a lone dude with a hard on would have likely gotten a different response.

Being a Naturist is how it's best described.
