Ok
Will it do 9.87 in the quarter mile?
For that money you could get a brand new e-bike, instead of converting one old enough to have a mid life crisis.
Zeroes is right, I'd invest in a new one unless you just want to the whole DIY route because you want to.

Yes … definitely go with a new, purpose built E-bike! You can get a decent new E-bike for a grand easy! Add another $500 or $600 and you can get a really nice one. I’m looking at a Himiway bike myself! Link below …

Definitely get a new bike. Your might think you'll never forget the nut. We all forget things after a hard sweaty ride.

After looking at a dozen or so YouTube videos the only thing that I'm sure of is I want a mid drive rather than a hub drive.
I've been Googling where you can and can't ride. A lot of places are saying no electric powered devices including the beach bike paths. That's taking some of the wind out of my sail. I need to go to some of the paths to get a better idea of where I can and can't ride. I've only been riding the Santa Fe dam path.
I've never rode an E-bike before but I've logged a few hours on a moped. A buddy left me his moped to get it running. It was a couple of weeks after I got it running before he picked it up, it was a lot of fun riding it.

Ebikes need good brakes because of the extra weight and speed. Your old bike probably has coaster brakes. You need disc brakes. Get a new bike.

Lamar i hope you figure out a motorcycle will do tons more.
Just have Tesla build you a battery bike.
Butt_head Tesla is experimenting with electric outboard motors.
Sneakypete that's not a bad idea. I can pull the motor from my electric chain saw but range is going to be limited because I have a total of about 300 feet of extension cords.
Well Lamar that means you would always be within reach of a cold beer.

Rad has bikes as low as $1,200 brand new, payment plan over 12 months with Affirm and no interest. Well built, strong, had mine up to 27mph, climbs steep hills, peddle assist or not...ur choice.
They even got one that folds up, throw in the SUV, no bike rack needed.
Why you fucking around with a monkey ward pos?
27mph
Trying to break the sound barrier?

This makes no sense to me. If you want a bicycle, ride a bicycle, if you want something powered, get a motorcycle, or electric cycle, or whatever the fuck they are called. Why would you convert a bike?
I just spent 1k on a bicycle. I don't get the whole ebike thing thou
I like 'em; yeah it's no motorcycle but its a nice to have for short trips to the store. No wear and tear on the car or motorcycle.
I say double the extension cords and toss on a mini fridge. Keep the beer handy.

Better to get a hot girl and ride her instead....
Exactly!
I think Addison has a really good idea.....

I work downtown and there is a young homeless kid that walks around posting flyers offering electric scooters for $120. Says to meet him any day between like 11am-4pm at so and so corner if you're interested. I finally got curious and drove by a few times to see what he was doing and ...he buys black spray paint. Paints the public bird type of scooters, takes the whole credit card thing off, bypasses all that shit and sells you a "repurposed" scooter. IDk if they work or how well they work or if he also removes the GPS unit but someone should hire that kid and put him to work...he's a freaking genius.

@AddisonParker, why not both?
you do want the guy to be in shape when you see him, don't you ?
Only thing wrong with it is I half to tighten the spanner nut on the hub after three or four rides when the pedal bearings get loose.
Imagine that happening every 4 hours at 30 miles per hour.
Who in the fuck wants to do 30mph?
Lamar get a wheelchair and supercharge it.
Take it to Bonneville and set some records.
Addison riding while breaking a speed record on the 'flats.
Wait no that'd make me a 1 pump chump :-)

"27mph
Trying to break the sound barrier?"
Trying to escape RawDawger blogs!
Seriously, got tired of putting on my helmet whenever I went to the market on my motorcycle.
Electric bike, no helmet required and cause I can go on paths not allowed for gas powered vehicles or e-cars.....I actually get there faster.
Imagine that happening every 4 hours at 30 miles per hour.
Apparently you didn't watch the video. The one thing you disregard is the original pedal system. The motor has it's own integrated pedal system.
