++ to this blog, been a long time since I looked for restaurants with a nice ocean view down in San Diego.
C Level Lounge on Harbor Island Drive near the airport, complete view of the bay and of downtown
Yep, and right next to C Level is Coasterra....it's an upscale Mexican restaurant with a variety of amazing dishes. Both are owned by the same people and share the same parking lot. Also, it's a very nice Bay view...not ocean.
For ocean views go to La Jolla where you'll find the Marine Room, George's at the Cove and others.
For the most authentic Mexican food go to Las Cuatro Milpas in Barrio Logan. It's not sexy, romantic or exotic plus no water view, but the food is superb and reasonably priced. It's a lunch only kind of place and expect a line at the door.

Tom Ham's Lighthouse
Is a classic, their upstairs patio looks down the bay
The Marine Room
and
Eddie V's Prime Seafood
Both are in La Jolla, and both are very-very good
Coasterra and The Brigantine Portside Pier are both great choices!

A little less expensive. Try the Green Flash on the boardwalk. The weather is right and you might get to see a green flash. And the boardwalk is always entertaining. Parking is a bitch.

dude1950..the Green Flash has been closed for several years now..Armando sold it and took his millions..Baja Beach Cafe is in its spot which is owned by the same corporation that owns several bars/restaurants in SD and LA

Peohe’s is very good.

If you are looking for something casual South Beach Bar n Grill in Ocean Beach. Great ocean view, food is tasty (lobster tacos are excellent) and not super pricey.
Ocean beach used to be cool and South Beach back in the day was good, now days all Newport all upgraded and all the hipsters and PB crowd and tourist ruined it Good luck on parking . I have lived in OB over 20 yrs and do not even go near Newport anymore.
