shoo flies?

how's the California High Speed Rail project doing? I thought we were supposed to be able to go directly from LA to San Francisco by now... 🚅🚆
|
|
I'll be surprised if they manage to finish it within 50 years.

OP is trolling so that he gets his daily dose of California bashing and State Government Bashing and don't forget to throw in Biden while you're at it.
Because why not?
It's OK- he really needs this.
Lame.
Apparently the California system is an engineering nightmare.
The farmers keep lowering the water table
and it has caused the ground level to shift by many feet - basically everywhere -
which is not good at all for a high speed rail system.
Between Climate Change and Farmers It might very well be a lost cause.
Maybe they should take the land and money they've allocated and use it for solar or wind farms.
Or
they could use it to send idiots back to college.

@ Frank.e.Machine.
Farmers lowering the water table? WTF? That's the excuse really?
I think the word you are looking for is Subsidence, and sure, it's a very real thing.
However, that's not the problem.
If it were, all the roads would have issues with buckling and separation. They don't.
All the water supply (underground) lines would have issues. They do not.
The sewage, which as you know is a separate system couldn't keep pipes connected.
Do you know how many petrochemical pipelines run underground?
Both Natural gas - AND liquid petroleum - totally different and uniqe from one another run thousands of miles in Kalifornia.
The list goes on.
Ever seen a frigging rail bed? It's designed to take structural and environmental stresses.
What a brain dead excuse.
The problem was that it was not viable in the first place and the importance of "green" overtook "viable" and idiots like you voted for it...... some were fooled by the lies that lefties like you willingly told to get it passed.
Really, blame it on the farmers. Moron.

@ witler- sorry, I made a mistake and thought you were someone else.
Oh well, @ PC picked up the ball and ran with it.
@PC
Hostile much?
Did I say I support it. Did I say I voted for it?
Not viable in the first place? Did I say it was.
No, but I guess I provoked you, by predicting someone/you would lash out and do some liberal bashing.
You have no idea who you're even talking to, what I might and might not vote for, whatever.
@ Remo,
Did you investigate the subsidence?
Are you a Geologist who specializes in that area?
You made some common sense and a fairly logical set of connections but I read that its a different set of issues for trains running 200 miles and hour.
You guys are so pissed about taxpayer waste, but these mega AG companies are just as much in the pocket as Tudor Saliba. You think that farmers are "the common man" all the sudden.
Sheesh.
Calm down fellas.
I'm going to go have a drink with some friends, I suggest you give that a try.

giving 2.75 to 1 odds someone hits the train/tracks up to 4.25 years after up and running
|

Putting a bullet train in a part of the country that is incredibly seismically active is a GREAT idea.
I know I want to be going close to 200mph on "rails" when an earthquake hits.
Good old moonbeam....what a guy.
|
|
The California voters passed the high speed rail prop. 1A, during Schwarzenegger's time as governor, not moonbeam Brown's.
|
|
he's a liberal now
|
|
He's irrelevant now.
|
|
What a waste.
I'd prefer a high speed rail to Las Vegas.
|
|
^^THAT^^ is where the bullet train should be.. LA to Vegas.
High speed rail....running 24hrs friday-monday afternoon
Lounge and bar cars
That rail line would pay itself off in like 10 years....and probably be one of the most profitable pieces of track in America.
Then roll those profits over to build a line from Frisco-Sacramento-Reno.... then shoot a branch off of that that runs Sacramento-Tahoe.
You got gambling and skiing covered....then you roll those profits over to do the LA-Frisco bullshit.. which I honestly can't see EVER being as profitable as any of those other lines.
|
|
Depending on the price - I'd go to Vegas over going to San Fran.
Tix have a ceiling on what the can charge - price it competitive against air/ car.
I doubt any ROI could possibly be made north south (san Fran), more likely east west (Vegas)

Holy shit... LA to LV? That's money.
|

Frank, your first post was fucking lame
Just own it
Trying to justify that shitty post in another post makes you look even lamer
In fact, if you had 4 legs, you still couldn't walk
Stix, love you man but nobody says Frisco for the City by the bay.
And, nobody wants to go there
Not even the woke
The fucking dumbase mayor gets caught maskless at a party....singing
Right after she issues a mask mandate, lol
You dumb fucking Progs
The people you vote for are laughing at you
In your fucking fat face
And, you don't have the common sense to be angry about it
They've got the red hot poker in your ass and your only comment is.....
DEEPER! DEEPER! GOBALLSDEEP!

I think a line between Frisco and LA is pretty pointless. If you're in LA or SoCal in general WHY the FUCK would you want to go to San Francisco?
IT SUCKS!
The weather is shitty
The people are pretentious assholes
The town itself is just FUCKED UP
Try to drive around SF??? FUCK THAT..
Personally....if I never step foot in SF again...I will live a happy life..
But apparently everybody doesn't feel that way.. you got all these mother fuckers that think they need to go to wine country...shit tons of gay people have convinced themselves that they gotta go to SF... WHY??? I don't know... WeHo is about as gay as humans can get on earth.... Maybe people from SF want to escape SF....FUCK if I made the mistake of living there I would sure as fuck want out.
Just trying to be open to the possibility that other people might have a reason to go there that I just can't grasp.....FUCK...people go to tex-ass.... and I'm like WHY?? I got family there and on the RARE occasion I go...I fucking hate it. I just don't have an appreciation for dirt, trailer parks, pickup trucks, cows...and the pervasive odor of cow shit..... some people apparently LIKE trailer parks and cow shit. More power to the dumb asses.

High Speed Rail Project is for the Governor's cronies to get rich and never actually build anything...
|
|
^ giving me the layups and I do appreciate it
Some dipshits go to Texas to smell horse shit
Some dipshits go to SF to smell human shit
Amirite or what?
High five!
Chest bump!
Shot of Don Julio!
