We have to go with the timescale of how long we have immunity from a given pathogen with the vaccines we have available when we give boosters. That's just the way it is.
With Hepatitis A, the timescale is 20 years.
With pertussis and tetanus, the timescale is 10 years.
With HPV, the timescale is also 10 years.
With COVID, the timescale is apparently 6 months.
A large part of this is the nature of the pathogen we're dealing with. It was a known fact before COVID that people can get reinfected from the same coronavirus 1-3 years after getting it the first time.
So, if it's an issue of getting a booster every 6 months and not getting COVID, because I didn't let my immunity wane (which is going on now to a certain extent), that's fine with me.
I have to take other, far more potent medications EVERY DAY. Taking something every 6 months is no big deal.
And we're talking about first-generation vaccines. When we develop vaccines using attenuated live viruses and perhaps inhale the vaccine instead of getting a shot, maybe immunization will then last a few years, and we'd need boosters only that often.
It's no big deal UNLESS YOU WANT TO MAKE IT A BIG DEAL BECAUSE YOU ARE AN ANTI-VAXXER TRYING TO INSTILL FEAR INTO PEOPLE BECAUSE YOU ARE A PIECE OF SHIT.

My understanding is that Israel's 4th shot is a proactive measure to get ready once the 3rd shot wears off. It's not that the 1st 3 shots didn't work. It's that the effectiveness wore off.
We're in new territory with COVID-19 and it's variants. Nobody new how long the vaxx would maintain VE (Viral Effectiveness). Israel was the first use case with mass adoption in a real world scenario. And they're showing us that it was effective for about 5 months.
After the 5 months, a new highly contagious variable (delta) emerged. So the learning was not that the vaccine didn't work. It was that it got less effective as time went on.
That's why they're mandating the booster shot now. And anticipating another booster shot 5-6 months later, when VE wears off again.

The vaccines and the virus should never have become a political issue, but many politicians saw it as an opportunity to take more control for the Executive branch at the state level and as a way to get a mentally incapable individual into the White House. Adults really should get the vaccine to boost their chances of seeing some sort of normalcy in their lives, but there is no sufficient longitudinal data to be giving this vaccine to children as young as five. Getting a shot every six months is not a viable solution and there is no way to hide until the virus goes away. Eventually, COVID will become more like flu because there will be so many variants that they won’t be able to vaccinate for all of them and you will have to take your chances with what you have.

Scientists are doing the best they can to develop vaccines to address this virus, which keeps mutating.
Recommendations evolve as more is learned. Science deniers point to that fact to discredit science, but that is how things develop in an accelerated environment where 2,000 Americans are dying a day.
To the antivaxxers: if China really did develop Covid in a lab, wouldn’t you want the antidote? Yes the vaccines don’t last forever, some are more effective than others, waaa waaah waaa…who gives a shit. I’d rather live than die.

The fact China isn’t letting anyone evaluate those who were first sick suggests that it may be a lab-made virus. So obviously protect yourselves with what was developed to protect you from it. This is just basic logic.

The problem, ISOS, is that the GOP can never win legitimately again without voter suppression and gerrymandering. And I’m sure you know that because there are fewer Republicans than Democrats.
So rather than change their policies to appeal to more people, including on abortion that 69% of the US population supports Roe v Wade, they’d rather crowbar Supreme Court justices in where the minority rules the majority. That isn’t going to end well for the minority unless you want to upend this democracy.
So the GOP has to change. The fringe groups in the GOP, who are the most vocal, have no real arguments than to allow their followers to die of Covid just because they hang their hat on personal liberties over protecting one’s self from a virus that can kill them and their families. None of this is sustainable and the GOP knows it. They’re just buying time with voter suppression and gerrymandering.

The debt ceiling was automatically unanimously raised by the Dems when they weren’t in power in the Senate each of the 4 years Trump was in office. Trump’s deficit spending totaled $7.8 trillion while he was in office.
This country spends a shitload on the military industrial complex each year. Cutting some of that funding and redirecting it to our aging infrastructure is logical, will create jobs, and will make us more competitive.
I will be redirecting my focus onto a lovely lady this afternoon. I suggest you do the same.
