The vaccine could never have caused the Delta variant as someone here said. The Delta variant arose in India at a time no one was vaccinated.

even in Sweden 65% has received 2 shots.
places like Denmark masks are no longer required anywhere.
they actually declared covid no longer a "critical threat to society." (75% has recd 2 shots)
agree the covid shots are not vaccinations as you can still get the virus and you can still pass it on to others.
but it clearly does help with the severity of the sickness and probably prevent death and hospitalizations.
on the other hand, earth has been removed of +1mil of people with poor health conditions.
think about the savings in healthcare and public services...globally.
if you look hard enough you can always find a positive perspective.

Paper just came out that shows, even during Delta, a significant reduction of transmission or infection when case or contact is vaccinated, respectively, although there is a time-dependent waning effect.
What is particularly interesting is this effect seems to not be very dependent on viral loads.
Good news for vaccination ending this pandemic if enough people vaccinate & stay current.
