Very misleading information.
First of all, Florida went through its Delta wave a lot earlier than Ireland, so the American Spectator, a right-wing publication, is comparing apples to oranges. Florida's peak 7 day average of new cases was 21,669 back in August. Ireland is currently ten times less at 2,042 (with a quarter of the population of Florida). (source: Google).
Having said that, I'm not sure you can make the claim that this is due to more restrictions in Ireland. Ireland has actually significantly reduced measures since May (sourceurworldindata.org).
Many factors determine the onset of a wave, including random luck. The most reliable method of measuring population-wide effects of interventions and vaccines is through studying the differences of many countries/states/counties together over a certain length of time. This helps you to see through the variability associated with a small sample.
As to the vaccinated having more deaths or hospitalizations (I forget which). That's what you would expect when much of the population is vaccinated. Thought experiment for the extreme case: if 100% of the population is vaccinated, all the deaths will come from the vaccinated. So, if you do the math, you'd realize that more deaths would come from vaccinated vs unvaccinated if, say 75% of the population (like in Ireland) is vaccinated, regardless of the high (but not 100%) effectiveness of the vaccine.

Pick and choose, Waterhead!
For the most part, Ireland had been using Janssen and AstraZeneca. After they saw the surge of Delta, they were able to broker a deal to get the Pfizer and Moderna in July. As of approximately that time, only 1,665,553 people had been fully vaccinated.
So it's not apples and apples.

@NR
Its amazing to see you twist and turn to take simple data and dismiss outright b/c it does not fit your ideology.
Simple data....simple truths. The numbers do not lie.....
And....being the spectator has even a greater reason for telling truth. B/c all of the media would go after them.
The left NEVER faces that kind of scrutiny. EVER.
Your points made then...prove we should not have gotten EVERYBODY vax'd. Its a matter of luck...geography.
Last I remember the Irish have the same makeup as any other peoples.....
Love this one the best "That's what you would expect when much of the population is vaccinated. Thought experiment for the extreme case: if 100% of the population is vaccinated, all the deaths will come from the vaccinated"
Well then the VAX DOES NOT WORK.....if people are dead and were vax'd.

Again NR nothing in the article is fabricated....taken from gov sources.....Ireland is far from a right wing gov.
And yet you can not wrap your head around the fact the vax FAILED.

It’s interesting how most of your criticism of me has very little to do with what I say about the science. Probably because you don’t know any better.
If events are happening with some randomness, that is a very big reason for everyone to get vaccinated, because you don’t always know where the next wave might be.
Just because a few people die from the vaccine doesn’t mean it doesn’t work. The vaccines are not 100% effective, so you unfortunately expect a few deaths, but they are much better than not having them on board.
