BREAKING: NYC Health Dept authorizes covid booster shots for *all* NYers adults, as long as at least 6 months since 2nd Pfizer/Moderna dose or 2 months since J&J dose.
This is a welcome move at a time when cases are rising in NYC.

If you actually bothered to look at what was going on in Minnesota at the time, the wave of daily new COVID cases reached new highs first in October 2020, then in November, then in December, and finally in January (see link). The policies implemented were to limit spread and protect the more vulnerable.
Everything else is just "gotcha" politics, you right winger.

The rate ratio for severe disease among persons fully vaccinated in the month when they were first eligible, as compared with those fully vaccinated in March, was 1.8 (95% CI, 1.1 to 2.9) among persons 60 years of age or older and 2.2 (95% CI, 0.6 to 7.7) among those 40 to 59 years of age; owing to small numbers, the rate ratio could not be calculated among persons 16 to 39 years of age.
CONCLUSIONS
These findings indicate that immunity against the delta variant of SARS-CoV-2 waned in all age groups a few months after receipt of the second dose of vaccine.

We take boosters for tetanus and pertussis. It’s no big deal. Most vaccines that do not contain a live, attenuated virus, typically require multiple doses or boosters.
Millions of people take medications every day, and they have no issues with it. People take a flu shot annually. A booster every six months for now is no big deal.

The Israeli study may have confounders as it had no randomization. A study based on previous randomization into experimental and placebo groups shows strong protection for disease after at least five months for the Moderna vaccine.
