Thank you Newsom for raising the state gas tax to 51 cents a gallon. Thank all the voters who defeated the recall effort to remove Newsom.

Dont worry, soon we will all be forced to buy electric cars, lawn mowers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, generators and all the batteries that go with them.

thats funny because China owns the largest deposits of lithium and has struck a deal with Afghanistan who is suspected to have the second largest deposit discovered. Its crazy to think after twenty years over there the US goverment and other Allied governments could not figure a way the afghans could have help their county to mine it themselves.

You can recycle batteries in a very effective way. Japan has been doing that for decades on all rare earth materials and components. I don't see why we can't do this.

Even if we are too fucking lazy or careless to recycle diligently, we can always export these to Japan and China for processing.

Tell me, how do you recycle gasoline? And Gasoline cars also have a toxic battery that you need to replace every 5 years on average. Don't forget that part.

By 2035, most new homes will have solar installed. IF you haven't already installed solar, you're just not investing wisely. I haven't paid for electric power for over 7 years. Just the few dollars in fees and taxes. My electric bill used to be 6-700 hundred a month before owning any electric cars. Plus you don't pay for oil change or maintenance and gas. My car and solar basically paid for itself.

If you have the resources, I honestly don't know why anyone would not invest in solar panels and at least one electric car for the day to day commute. Its a guarantee money saving move. Forget the environmental bullshit. Its actual money saving.

@cgem: we cannot do this because of our environmental regs, and the fact that JP's workers actually work (like really work). Once UAW gets involved with auto battery recycling, it's a lost cause.

I value China as much as US unions; both are socialist.

Don't get me wrong I'm all for solar and I think the government should give tax payers those tesla or LG batteries for free. But I've yet to see a Jet fighter run on battery power. China and india aren't giving up being the #1 and #2 polluters of the earth for at least 50 years. According to AOC we won't be around that long lol. Let's go Brandon

Newsom, Garcetti and Biden are AWESOME!
Higher energy costs, higher cost of living, higher taxes, inflation, labor shortage,
bankrupt businesses, people who don't want the vaccine losing their jobs, and uneducated children.
This is what the Dems voted for and got.
So stop complaining and lump it. LOL

MORE MISERY TO COME!

CGEM is full of shit, as usual

First of all, who the fuck commutes? Quit your dead end job and work for yourself from home like everybody else.

Gasoline doesn't need to be recycled, obviously that's stupid as it's burned in the process. Continued advancements in engine tech has and will continue to lower the pollution output AND the energy density of gasoline is far higher per unit of weight than lithium batteries. Lithium batteries have a mining issue and a landfill pollution issue, so both ends of the process are a problem.

And, NO........battery recycle is not that effective, especially for lithium. By 2025, about 705,000 tons of lithium-ion batteries will reach end-of-life and reach 9 million tons by 2040. Recycle rate is currently estimated at 5%. Japan subsidizes their recycle since it's not cost effective to recycle cobalt and other elements in the batteries. Plus due to the assembly of the battery cell, the process of unwinding the structure is difficult, especially in large batteries which contain thousands of cells.

Solar is a joke, sure CA has required all new homes to have it but there won't even be 5% of homes in the country, much less the world that will be have solar. It's inefficient and requires a payback period of over 10 years and that's only because utilities are REQUIRED to add the power back to the grid and your solar is being subsidized by everybody else who doesn't have solar.

Large solar arrays that would replace existing electricity would require MILLIONS of acres of land that would be an eco-disaster and we all know what happens when it's cloudy. Shall we mention that the vast majority of panels are produced in China using coal-produced electricity and slave labor?

So, if you said.........hey, let's do hydrogen or let's build newly designed nuclear (the only true non-carbon emitting alternatives).........you'd get our attention. But, instead you jump on the short bus and make claims that are invalid and just plain dumb.

Sorry the "Fix the Roads Narrative" was baloney to get the bill passed. Sacramento is famous for diverting funds to their pet Democrat social and union projects. And fixing roads is not one of them. There was a recall on the bill and they renamed it so you thought it was going 100% to the roads.

I like gas taxes...as long as the money goes exactly where it's intended for the prescribed time

good way to get the low income, cash people, and illegals to pay SOME taxes...typically they don't pay any besides sales taxes

Balls deep or whatever the fucking shill name you like to use.

How am I full of shit if Im not paying a cent for gas on my ev and my electric bill is close to nothing per month for the past seven years? Thats over 60k I saved even without the ev and my panels, converters, batteries, installations and repairs only cost me 45k total. I only had to replace one converter and two panels which are included in warranty. Key is go with a company too big to fail so warranty stands. Thats not including the gas I saved every month. And it adds value to my property as most of the future home buyers would want solar panels installed.

I dont care about the environment. We all gonna die before shit hits the fan. Not my fucking problem. Im strictly talking about money here.

You are the one that is full of shit. You do what you want and advocate for what you want. Im stating a fact that solar panel and electric car saved me a bundle. There is no downside to this unless your roof cant handle the weight or its angled the wrong way. We live in socal, the sun aint gonna go away. But gas prices havent gone down, have they?

Look at the gas prices rn. I pay nothing to power my cars and my home. So who is full of shit here?

And Billy is right. Americans are too self entitled and lazy in comparison to the Chinese and Japanese. So recycling wont work for the masses. But you are not disposing that battery at home. Its either at a dealer or mechanic so the proper channel of recycling wouldnt be a problem.

If you have the money, solar panels are definitely worth the investment. Especially if you are thinking of getting a ev.

Given how much of an idiot you are
Its clear you don't even understand the economics of your panels
But, thanks for making it clear how little you give a shit about the environment or anybody else

The taxpayer is forced to subsidize your "free" solar
The utility is forced to buy your excess at above market rates
The dealer still has to process your old batteries
You're a one man environmental disaster zone and don't give a shit

You sound like a cliche movie bad guy industrialist.
I'm getting mine so fuck everybody else.
The planet would be better off without you on it
So, please do us all a favor
And, self immolate
Much appreciated

So?

Like 60 years of past American industrialization didn't do its part to ruin the environment? Americans are the worst polluters per capita in the whole world. Its been like this for the past 60 years. Nothing has changed and nothing ever will so long as fossil fuel, military complex, and airline industries stay as powerful lobbyists. We constantly accused China and India for being the worst polluting nations but they have only started to industrialize in a meaningful way 20 years ago. But our major allies like UK and Australia are just as bad and we say nothing. Just because the Anglo-Saxons are always right, rule setters if the rule fits the agenda.

Tax payers are always forced to subsidize anything the lobbyists of the day wants. You don't eat CORN, WHEAT or in CA ALMONDS? Our freaking water shortage was significantly caused by the Almond farm growers on polluting our water supply. Care to comment on that?

Bringing in such a lame ass argument on subsidizes is fucking moronic. Questioning my economics is plain dumb when everything you stated is exactly how American politics and economy and policies are made. Special Interest.

So why blame one special interest that you libtards low about the environment and ignore all rest that's really causing the major damages to our economy? How is Solar Panel subsidies hurting more than anything else? Mother fucking wannabee dumbass? What fucking solution do you bring on the table except for bitching on other's opinions? Everything we do is about money. Anything that saves money will eventually lead to saving of energies. Its just kinetics. Get that balls deep in your own fucking asshole.

Tesla was forced to leave CA because of stupid Lib congresswoman that can't hold her tongue and the rest of her dumb fuck cronies who knows nothing about jobs and economics. Billions loss in job opportunity, supply chain, and taxable income.

There are stupid idealists who knows nothing about running the economy and balancing society and then there are pragmatist.

Your stupid dumb assertions are just dumb. What you discounted for can all be scalable when the users exceed fossil fuel demands. You have zero understanding on exactly how recyclables work in large scale operation at a national level. And you have zero knowledge about the effects of subsidies and impact on our environment.

Get a fucking better education before you speak to me.

And dumb fuck, dealers do not "process" batteries" in the way you fucking recondition a traditional car's battery. NO chemicals are needed at the dealer like a traditional battery. Dealer simply collects and "ship" to certified processing plants to conduct the shredding and pyrometallurgy. No fucking dealer anywhere can fucking "process" a depleted lithium battery pack.

Its called battery disassembly and repurposing. Most of the work on disassembly are done by HAND. Meaning very skilled technicians are needed. How many fucking skilled technicians do you think we have in the US compared with China and Japan? Its fucking laughable. That's why most will be exported to China and Japan for processing.

You clearly have no idea about renewable energy. So stop fucking misleading yourself and everyone else by opining here. Its embarrassing.

You go fucking self immolate and do everyone else a favor, skip the reincarnation phase and be some fucking dust settling in some shithole. You are not worthy of air.

Buying solar is a "feel good" virtue signal decision
Not a smart economic decision
Without the tax breaks and utility buybacks
Almost nobody would do it
Same with wind power

Any half witted brain dead fucktard can do the math
You're just pissed you got taken to the cleaners
So, posting on this site to justify yourself.....

And, call people faggots, lol

When did that word become a letter F?
That's just too fucking woke
Which word gets stricken from the vocabulary next?
Is it time to use W in place of white?
C in place of cunt?
We might confuse that with cock

Somebody call the OED for clarification!

^^ what you say makes no sense. I'm honestly disappointed in you. You try to act like someone who knows a lot. But anyone can google superficially and act like they know. Its clear you don't know shit about this subject or any other subjects. You are a net negative here and serves as a jester that no one likes or care for. So you poke and opine hoping someone would notice you to fill that tiny little void that you seek.

I'm a hobbyists. That's why I'm here. I share my experience whether its positive or negative.

Why are you here? Why are you even on this site if you don't want to contribute like the vast majority of us? You've never addressed that. You need money for FX pts? Is that what you need?

I remember one time you replied me on a thrad to say you don't do PM. I realize now its not that you don't do PM but you CANNOT do PM because you are too cheap to buy FX PTS to reply a PM. You are not only a shill but also a liar.

Maybe if you had Solar Panels, you could've save some money and do what the rest of us do here to enjoy our hobby. But that requires you to have your own property to start with. At 120yo, it would be a little sad that you still rent. I'm surprised you can still type at this shill age. I guess shills got super powers that us commoners don't have.
